Both stars won several awards for this quirky comedy series, Helen Hunt racking up four Emmys four years in a row for 'Outstanding Lead Actress- Comedy Series'.
In fact, many of their one time and recurring guest stars won as well. The show itself had five Emmy nominations, and won a Genesis Award, Peabody Award and Golden Globe Award. Viewers for Quality television chose "Mad About You" as 'Best Quality Comedy'.

The series concentrates on the married lives of Paul and Jamie Buchman, two people who are mad about each other but have personality conflicts and sometimes opposing views and takes on situations. Paul is a documentary film maker, and Jamie is in public relations. Most of their conflicts are handled with caring and light hearted repartee, but there's the occasional Big Problem that requires more time and effort.

Answer: "Forvirret Med Livet" - Denmark

The Danish series was called "Vild Med Dig" whereas "Forvirret Med Livet" translates roughly as 'mixed up about life'. The series was quite as popular in other countries as in the U.S., no doubt because it mirrored many of the issues and situations two loving people have to face as a married couple, while dealing with the rest of the world.

Answer: New York

They had an apartment in New York. During the series there were occasional crossovers with characters from "Seinfeld" and "Friends". Lisa Kudrow's character, Ursula Buffay, appeared as a waitress at Riff's Bar, who frequently got distracted and forgot orders. Jerry Seinfeld played an uncredited role early in the series.

There were also references to other classic t.v. shows such as "The Dick Van Dyke Show".

Answer: Moving from Tuesday to Monday night slot

By the last season, both stars were being paid $1 million for each episode. The move to Monday night was a mistake, as the series was fenced in by lesser and newer shows. At some point it was decided to end the series while it was still strong.

Answer: "Final Frontier"

"Final Frontier" was composed by Don Was and Paul Reiser. It was also covered by Anita Baker, whose version took over in 1997 as the theme. Along with the comedy there was pathos, as there is in life, and opposing viewpoints.

Answer: Murray

Murray is a happy, loving dog who has his own walker, Nat Ostertag, played by Hank Azaria. Paul had found him as a pup and raised him. He originally met Jamie while walking Murray.
Murray often chases an imaginary mouse during the series and ends up running into a wall at times. The real mouse turns up in a later episode.
Maui was a rescue dog and had prior acting roles; he understudied Bingo in the film of the same name.

Answer: Carroll O'Connor

Carroll O'Connor was her dad and Carol Burnett played her mom. Burnett appeared in ten episodes, while O'Connor was in only four. The three wrong choices were guest stars, John Astin in season 2, Sid Caesar in season 5 and Bruce Willis in season 5.

Answer: Mabel

Theresa Stemple (Carol Burnett), Jamie's domineering mother proclaims "Mothers Always Bring Extra Love!" spelling out Mabel's name. Over the years, Mabel was played by twins, Alyssa and Justin Baric and several others. In the finale she is played by Janeane Garofalo as an adult Mabel looking back over the years.

Answer: Mel Brooks

Mel Brooks is perfect as Paul's uncle. The other three choices also made appearances on the series, as did such diverse characters as 'Rudy' Giuliani, Billy Joel, Jerry Lewis, Nathan Lane, Andre Agassi, Garth Brooks, Ellen DeGeneres and Barbara Feldon. These and many more added spice to the lively give and take between Jamie and Paul in their relationship.

Answer: To get back together

After all that time, and so much fun, real life situations were also confronted and the couple ultimately decided that each wanted to go his own way. But, it was shown that the pair eventually got back together and lived "happily ever after".
