Cliff Huxtable (played by Bill Cosby) was a doctor, an OBGYN to be specific. His wife Clair (played by Phylicia Rashâd) was a lawyer. They had five children. In order from oldest to youngest they were: Sondra (played by Sabrina Le Beauf), Denise (played by Lisa Bonet), Theo (played by Malcolm Jamal-Warner), Vanessa (played by Tempestt Bledsoe) and Rudy (played by Keshia Knight Pulliam).

The show is about the lives and antics of this family.

"A Different World" starred Jasmine Guy as Whitley. Originally a spin-off of "The Cosby Show" it was about Denise Huxtable's transition from life at home to life at Hillman College. Eventually Denise was written out of the show and it became focused on Whitley and her on-again off-again relationship with Dwayne (played by Kadeem Hardison).

On "Cheers" Sam Malone (played by Ted Danson) was the ex-baseball player turned bar owner. In the first five seasons (which were during the 80s) he had a waitress named Diane (played by Shelley Long) who he had an on-again off-again romance with. His waitresses name was Carla (played by Rhea Perlman) and was a feisty little woman with a lot of anger.

She hated Diane as well as hating Cliff Clavin (Played by John Ratzenberger) a mailman who spent more time in the bar than he did delivering mail. Cliff's best friend, who sat at the end of the bar was Norm (played by George Wendt). Sam also had a bartender (also in the 80s) named Ernie Pantuso better known as Coach. Sadly, Nicholas Colasanto passed away on February 12, 1985. For the rest of that season they had Coach away all the time.

In the 1986 season, it was revealed that Coach had died. Woody Boyd (played by Woody Harrelson) replaced Coach as bartender. Diane and Sam were supposed to get married, but Diane left him at the altar to go write her book.

The following season Rebecca Howe (played by Kirstie Alley) was introduced as the new bar manager.

"Wings" was about two brothers Joe (played by Tim Daly) and Brian (played by Steven Weber). Joe mainly owned the plane, but Brian was a partner and also the other pilot. They flew their plane out of Sandpiper Air. Joe's friend and later wife Helen (played by Crystal Bernard) worked as owner of a small cafe inside the airport.

She also had a dream to be a cello player one day. Their mechanic, who was not very bright, but very likable was Lowell (played by Thomas Hayden-Church). The woman who did announcements for Sandpiper was Fay (played by Rebecca Schull).

Their competition who was always trying to buy them out or make them fail somehow was Roy Biggins (played by David Schramm). Then there was Antonio the cab driver (played by Tony Shalhoub) who later went on to play the lead in the show "Monk".

"Seinfeld" centered around Jerry Seinfeld (played by Jerry Seinfeld) and his three friends: George (played by Jason Alexander), Kramer (played by Michael Richards) and Elaine (played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus). In the beginning and end of each episode Jerry did some of his stand up comedy routines, which had to do with the plot of that particular episode. One of the most memorable episodes is the one with the "Soup Nazi". If one didn't order just right he would yell "No soup for you".

He was played by Larry Thomas.

"Frasier" takes place in Seattle, Washington where Frasier Crane (now divorced from Lilith) has moved and started a radio show involving psychiatry. His neurotic brother Niles (played by David Hyde Pierce) was in love (and later on married to) their father's physical therapist Daphne (played by Jane Leeves).

Their father, Martin Crane (played by John Mahoney) was shot in the hip while he was a police officer and was forced to retire. Niles did not approve of Frasier's new profession and thought it was a joke that his brother a renowned psychiatrist would do a radio show.

"Friends" centered on six characters: Monica (played by Courtney Cox) who was a neat freak and a chef; her brother Ross (played by David Schwimmer) who was a paleontologist and had been married and divorced three times, once to Carol who was a lesbian, then to Emily (during their wedding Ross accidentally said Rachel's name causing problems for the marriage all along which lead to an eventual divorce), and then to Rachel (played by Jennifer Aniston) who he accidentally married in Las Vegas while they were both drunk. Rachel and Ross are in love with each other, but throughout the show's run one or the other or both are involved with someone else.

A few times they got together but something always broke them up. By the series end, however, they were together. Phoebe (played by Lisa Kudrow) was a masseuse and known for singing at Central Perk.

Her main song was "Smelly Cat". Then there was Chandler (played by Matthew Perry) who eventually married Monica. They adopted a set of twins (much to their surprise, they thought they were only adopting one child). Finally, there is Joey (played by Matt LeBlanc). Joey was an actor, but had a lot of trouble getting roles.

He was on a soap opera for a while, but his character (on the soap opera) was eventually killed off.

"Will and Grace" centered on four people and their lives and interactions together. Will (played by Eric McCormack) was a gay lawyer. He lived with his best friend since college, Grace (played by Debra Messing) who was an interior designer. Another friend of theirs was Karen (played by Megan Mullally), a rich woman who liked to drink, yet never appeared to be very drunk.

She was very insulting to Grace. Her best friend, (and also a friend to the others) was Jack (played by Sean Hayes). Jack was also gay, but found out through sperm donation that he had become a father.

He gets to know his son and they form a bond. Jack had a TV show called "Just Jack".
