4. What would the contestants do if they knew the answer, in round 1?

Answer: Run up and ring a ship's bell

Round one was a simple best three-out-of-five competition in naming tunes, where the two players would run to ring a ship's bell when the player knew the tune the orchestra was playing. This practice was a holdover from the 1950s version, and eventually was replaced with a lockout buzzer.

8. Who was the announcer?

Answer: John Harlan

Bob Alberti and Tommy Oliver were the music directors.
9. What show did 'Name That Tune' replace in 1974?
