This is the very first episode of "Roswell". Its original air date was October 6th, 1999. It introduces all of the main characters and helps to set the tone for the rest of the series. The voice-over is done by Liz Parker. She is explaining what happened in the diner where she works.

2. "The point is that we don't know anything about these _____________. Are they good ______________? Bad ________________? We don't know. Are they just random ________________? For all we know, they don't have their passports."

Answer: Czechoslovakians

This is the code word that Maria and Liz come up with so that no one knows that they are talking about aliens. Liz and Maria are the only two humans who know that Max, Liz, and Michael are aliens. Liz told Maria because they are best friends.

Liz purposely bumps into Topolsky so she drops all of her files. Topolsky recognizes Liz and says her name. Topolsky then says "photographic memory". Maria is talking to Liz about what happened when she picked Isabel up when Isabel was having car trouble. Isabel uses her powers to turn up the air conditioning and radio which distracts and freaks Maria out. As a result, she hits the sheriff's car. Maria then talks to Liz and asked her to ask Max to talk to Isabel about it. Max and Isabel are siblings.

5. "Pie. ____ pie. For the lunch the Crash down is catering tomorrow. I was thinking about ____ pie."

Answer: Mud

Michael tells Max to think about mud when it comes to Liz. Max is attracted to Liz and wants a relationship with her but it is too complicated because she is human and he is an alien. Liz asked Max a question and he replied with mud. So she asked Max about what he said and he covers up with the quote.

In the episode "Toy House," Max puts out a grease fire and saves his mom using his alien powers. This makes the sheriff suspicious because grease fires can't be put out with water. The sheriff points this out to Max and then later to his mother. She later watches an old home video where Max healed an injured bird using his powers. This makes her realize that her son is special.

Tess says this to Michael to try and convince him that she is not the enemy in the episode "Max to the Max," which originally aired on May 1st, 2000. Michael and Isabel don't trust Tess because they find it hard to believe that there is another person who is like them.

Sheriff Valenti says this just after Kyle is shot with his father's gun by Agent Pierce. Max then goes over and heals Kyle the same way he healed Liz during the "Pilot" episode. Kyle talks to Liz about it later in the episode and as a result Liz and Kyle become closer. Kyle also becomes part of the secret group of humans that there are aliens living in Roswell.

He thinks that River Dog will be able to help him find the answers he is looking for. Michael finds out the author of the book was an alien as well.
