Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the name of Bailey's imaginary friend?

Answer: Lloyd W. Loomus

Bailey invented his imaginary friend to convince Kirsten of his sensitivity. Even Scott Wolf had a hard time remembering the name years later. Maurice the Space cowboy is, of course, Joey Tribiani's imaginary friend on "Friends."
2. What is the name of the girl who Julia tries to impress and eventually becomes friends with in the first season?

Answer: Nina

Nina is initially played by Cari Shayne. At first she uses Julia to have parties at the house, but they later become friends. Libby is Julia's childhood friend.
3. Why doesn't Julia want Claudia to participate in a violin competition in season 1?

Answer: Claudia lied about her age

Claudia said that she was 9 on the application form even though she was 11 so that the judges might go easier on her. Claudia told Ross that Julia didn't want to pay the fee so that he would sign her up instead of Julia.
4. What is the name of Julia, Bailey, and Sarah's high school principal?

Answer: Principal Stickley

Sara Mornell and Tim Halligan are both actors in an episode that mentions the principal's name. Twins, Taylor and Brandon Porter, play Owen during this season.
5. Who is Kirsten scheduled to marry at the end of season 2?

Answer: Michael

Kirsten is supposed to marry Charlie toward the beginning of season 2, but the wedding is called off. She makes it to the chapel at the end of season 2 to marry Michael, but after Charlie shows up, that wedding is also called off.
6. In a very famous quote, what does Claudia claim that she loves "the best?"

Answer: Bailey

This is one of my favorite "Party of Five" moments. In a last ditch effort, Claudia begs Bailey to stop drinking. She says, "I love you. More than anyone else. I love you the best."
7. Why do Charlie and Grace break up in the season 3 finale?

Answer: She doesn't like children

Charlie dates a lot of people, but we always know that he will end up with Kirsten. However, in this particular episode, Charlie realizes that he can't date Grace because she doesn't like kids.
8. Where is Claudia's boarding school?

Answer: Massachusetts

Claudia heads off to boarding school, and Julia goes to Stanford - but neither sister ends up lasting very long.
9. What does Sarah discover about her biological mother?

Answer: She died in a plane crash

Sarah has a hard time dealing with the reality of her adoption and it comes up several times throughout the show. My favorite is when she tells Julia that she can't listen to her talk about a possible abortion because if her birth mother had made that choice then she wouldn't be here. Sarah gets to meet her birth mother, played by Patricia Heaton, in season 2, but later on in the series, Sarah learns that her mother has died in a plane crash. Sarah's mother, Robin, did live in San Francisco, but she was against having children and never had another family.
10. Why does Julia leave San Francisco?

Answer: To work with the National Organization for Women

At the end of season 6, the Salingers make a mass exodus out of San Francisco. Julia goes to work with NOW, Claudia heads to Julliard, and Bailey moves to Philadelphia so that he can finish school at the Wharton Business School at UPENN. Julia and Justin do have plans to finally be together, but he had been living in Connecticut going to Yale, and he only decides to move to D.C. after Julia has made the decision to relocate due to her internship with NOW.
