Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Jill Munroe
Answer: Farrah Fawcett
Farrah retained her birth name throughout her career. She was born in 1947 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She went to the University of Texas in Austin, but dropped out to pursue an acting career. In 1976 she did a photo shoot for her portfolio, and the iconic poster of her in a red bikini was created. That best selling poster propelled her to stardom. Farrah appeared in commercials, and in shows such as "The Six Million Dollar Man".
She met Lee Majors, her first husband, on the set of that show. Her role in a made for T.V. movie called "Charlie's Angels" became so popular it was made into a series.
She had roles in over 50 television shows. Ms. Fawcett died of cancer in 2009 at the age of 62.
2. Gloria Pritchett
Answer: Sofia Vergara
She kept her birth name throughout her career. Sofia was born in Barranquilla, Colombia, in 1972. She was discovered by a photographer who happened to see her walking on a Colombian beach in the late 1980s. This chance meeting led to profitable modeling jobs. Modeling transformed into a brief stint acting on Spanish speaking television.
Her American breakthrough came with a small role in the John Singleton film called "Four Brothers". In 2009 she began her prominent role as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on the T.V. series "Modern Family".
3. Kelly Garrett
Answer: Jaclyn Smith
She changed the spelling of her first name, but otherwise kept her birth name during her entire career. Jaclyn was born in 1945 in Houston, Texas. After high school she attended The Balanchine School of Ballet. Her aspirations quickly shifted to modeling and acting. Soon thereafter she became the spokesmodel for Breck and Wella Balsam shampoos.
Some small roles in films and on television led to being cast as Kelly Garrett in the T.V. series "Charlie's Angels". This became her inroad to fame and fortune.
After the cancellation of the series she entered the business world with a women's line of apparel. She was actually the pioneer behind celebrities developing their own brands instead of endorsing others.
4. Diana Prince
Answer: Lynda Carter
Lynda Jean Carter kept her birth name during her career. She was born in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1951. She dropped out from Arizona State University to pursue a music career. Those dreams became sidetracked after winning a local beauty contest. She went on to win Miss World U.S.A. in 1972.
This, in turn, led to a foray into acting. After some small roles and work in commercials, her bridge to stardom was built after being cast as Diana Prince (aka Wonder Woman). However, after the series was cancelled, she never quite regained her fame.
She did return to her passion for music and has released some jazz albums.
5. Jeannie Nelson
Answer: Barbara Eden
Barbara Morehead was her name at birth. She was born in 1931 in Tucson, Arizona. Not long after her birth, her family moved to San Francisco, California. She entered the Miss California pageant in the early 1950s. This opened the door of opportunity to talent agencies.
In the mid fifties she became a semi-regular on "The Johnny Carson Show", and had other small roles on television and film. Barbara Eden, as she was professionally known, went on to have moderate success on both stage and screen into the early 2000s.

Her time in California gave her an opportunity to meet people in the entertainment industry. These contacts led to modeling work. Through modeling some acting jobs came her way. Her breakthrough came with her role as Gabrielle Solis in the show "Desperate Housewives".
Her star power grew even larger with her marriage to NBA star Tony Parker. The marriage only lasted two years, but by that time she had solidified a spot in both the acting and modeling worlds.
8. Audra Barkley
Answer: Linda Evans
Her birth name was Linda Evenstad. She was born in 1942 in Hartford, Connecticut. Her family moved to Hollywood, California, when she was just six months old. She attended Hollywood High School, and enrolled in drama class to help alleviate her of shyness.

She went with the professional name of Donna Douglas, and had moderate success during the 1950s and 1960s.
Her road to stardom came with her role as Elly May Clampett in the highly successful show, "The Beverly Hillbillies". The role brought her stardom, but also typecast her, as well. She never really regained prominence after the series ended. Donna turned to religion, and became a gospel singer, as well as an author of religion based children's books.
