We are never told what Irina's fake maiden name was, but we hear her referred to as Laura several times. Jack even slips and calls her Laura in one of his sessions with Dr. Barnett after Irina has turned herself in.

We meet Irina for the first time in the season 1 cliffhanger when we hear her voice, see her in shadow, and Sydney says, "Mom?". Katya is introduced in season 3 when Sydney and Vaughn are captured in North Korea and Irina sends Katya to Jack to help get them out. We first see Yelena in season 4 when Vaughn goes to see her to ask about his father.

Answer: Lena Olin

Many people think that Lena Olin is somehow related to Ken Olin, one of the producers and directors of "Alias." However, they are actually entirely unrelated. The shared last name is pure coincidence.

The first time was when Irina, Jack, and Sydney went to Kashmir to disarm a nuclear warhead. (I loved these two episodes - they're a great example of how funny "Alias" can be.) The second time was when they let Irina use a computer to help them shut down SD6's access to Echelon.

The third time was when Irina and Jack went Bangkok and Hong Kong to get a Rambaldi manuscript. The final time was when Irina was used as bait to find Sloane. Of course, Irina double crossed the CIA and escaped instead.

Isabella Rossellini is the daughter of Ingrid Bergman and Roberto Rossellini. She is a perfect example of the unbelievable guest stars that "Alias" gets.

Irina's two sisters are Yekaterina and Yelena, but Katya tells Jack that she has not been Yekaterina since she was a child.

Sonia Braga is an extremely successful Brazilian actress, but in the States she's probably best known for her recurring guest role on "Sex and the City" as Samantha's girlfriend in her shortlived foray into homosexuality. Bebel Gilberto and Marisa Monte are popular Brazilian musicians. Mia Maestro, of course, is the actress who plays Nadia, Irina's younger daughter.

Answer: The Covenant

We didn't actually discover that Yelena was the head of the Covenant until the end of season 4 when everything that Lauren said in the season 3 finale was finally explained. The Trust was a group of high ranking government officials that tried to frame and execute Sloane in season 3. Prophet 5 is the nemesis of season 5. The Alliance, of course, was the group behind SD6.

Answer: Irina had ordered Sydney to be killed.

Jack intercepted a message from Irina to an unkown assassin ordering him to kill Sydney. There was no time to figure out who the assassin was and stop him, so Jack had to kill Irina to stop the job from proceeding. We found out later that Jack didn't actually kill Irina, he killed one of Yelena's followers who had been made to look like Irina so that Jack would think she was dead.

Answer: Lauren Reed, Kazari Bomani, McKenas Cole, Julian Sark

Lauren, Sark, Kazari Bomani, and McKenas Cole all worked for the Covenant. Vaughn, Dixon, Marshall, and Emily Sloane are all good guys and so never worked for Yelena. Noah Hicks was a former boyfriend of Sydney's who worked for SD6 and on his own as an assassin called the Snowman (season 1). Alexander Khasinau was Irina's superior in the KGB when she was married to Jack. For the second half of season 1 everyone thought that Khasinau was "the Man" (one of "Alias's" weaker names for a villain, I think).

In the final episode, it was revealed that Irina was "the Man" and Khasinau worked for her.
