Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Do THY ELVES DABBLE in high school education?

Answer: Saved by the Bell

Screech, Slater, Lisa, Jessie, Zack, and Kelly were some of the students at Bayside High School in TV's 'Saved by the Bell'. While the show was mainly a teen comedy, there were times when more serious issues such as drugs or death were introduced. 'Saved by the Bell' ran from 1989 to 1993 when the students graduated to college.

A spin off called 'Saved by the Bell: The College Years' was cancelled after one season, but a new series called 'Saved by the Bell: The New Class' featuring a new set of students in the same high school was on air from 1993 to 2000.
2. Watch the ELF WHO, FOURTEEN spins later, went bankrupt and couldn't buy a vowel.

Answer: Wheel of Fortune

Players have been winning money and prizes on TV's 'Wheel of Fortune' since 1975. Created by entertainer and entrepreneur Merv Griffin, 'Wheel of Fortune' has spread around the globe to Australia, the Philippines, Spain, Denmark, South Korea and Venezuela.

The game is based on the game of Hangman where players work out the mystery word before their opponents. Contestants on 'Wheel of Fortune' spin a wheel which then determines the prize or cash amount they are playing for. That prize goes into their 'bank' if they successfully choose a letter contained in the mystery word, phrase or name.

They must also successfully guess the whole word to keep that prize. After three rounds, the winner is the contestant with the largest amount of money in their bank.
3. Kevin ate the RAREST HONEYDEW melon while he waited for his friends in the 1960s.

Answer: The Wonder Years

'The Wonder Years' ran from 1988 to 1993 and was a nostalgic look at what it was like to be a teenager in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Starring Fred Savage as Kevin Arnold, 'The Wonder Years' was the story of Kevin maturing into an adult while dealing with high school, girlfriends and friends as well as the turbulence of the 1960s and the changing social mores in the USA. Winnie Cooper and Paul Pfeiffer were his close friends through the show and Winnie was Kevin's girlfriend at times.

The show was narrated by Daniel Stern (being the adult Kevin looking back at his life) for all 115 episodes.
4. The government worker fails to ERADICATE PRANKS, NOR does she maintain safety in the natural workplace.

Answer: Parks and Recreation

Set in the fictitious Indiana town of Pawnee, 'Parks and Recreation' is a comedy filmed as though it were a documentary. Amy Poehler is one of the stars playing a small town public official who loves her town, wants to improve it, but is faced with laziness, ennui and ineptitude of the crew working with her.

It's not all about the job though as there are plenty of relationship tangles added to the mix in the show. First shown in 2009, 'Parks and Recreation' has received critical acclaim and been nominated for prestigious awards.
5. Try your luck at the CINEMA BOOTH. WIN tickets to see Jamie, the strongest female alive.

Answer: The Bionic Woman

Lindsay Wagner starred as Jamie Sommers whose skydiving accident resulted in her being transformed into 'The Bionic Woman'. A former tennis professional, she had her life saved by a medical team which gave her superhuman hearing, a very strong right arm, and legs which gave her the ability to run at sixty miles per hour.

She is required to fight fembots, save the world from destruction, escape from kidnappers and save herself from perilous situations while working as an agent for the OSI (Office of Scientific Intelligence). 'The Bionic Woman' was made between 1976 and 1979.
6. Did the ARCTIC ONION FAIL to make David Duchovny cry?

Answer: Californication

The first season of 'Californication', starring David Duchovny, aired on Showtime in 2007. David played an unsettled writer with relationship issues and writer's block who moves to California. David Duchovny won a Golden Globe award in 2007 for his performance as Hank Moody.
7. I'm going TO DIG SOME dy-no-mite here in Chicago.

Answer: Good Times

Good Times' was the story of a working class African-American family living in Chicago. Florida and James Evans are parents of three children, the eldest being James Jnr (J.J.), then Thelma, and finally Michael. For six seasons in the 1970s, this sitcom dealt with subjects ranging from the mundane task of running a household on a strict budget to the death of a loved one.
8. The ILL MAMMOTH DECLINED an invitation to dine with the Wilkerson boys at home.

Answer: Malcolm in the Middle

Malcolm Wilkerson was the third boy of four in the Wilkerson family. He was gifted, funny, and lived in a dysfunctional family which seemed to function with some level of happiness. The oldest son (Francis) was at military school thanks to some bad behaviour while the second son Reese had a tendency to bully but enjoys baking. Malcolm was next in the lineage, while youngest son for most of the seven seasons was Dewey. Dewey was harrassed by his older brothers in the early series, but later matured and developed tactics to combat them.

His real talent was musical and he composed an opera for his middle school classmates to perform. Youngest brother Jamie appeared in 2004 and started developing anti-social habits quickly. Parents Hal and Lois tried to control the mob of boys in their care as best they could in 151 episodes in seven years dating from 2000 to 2006.
9. If you have some ESTEEM, HONK for this 1960s band.

Answer: The Monkees

'The Monkees' were a fictitious rock band created by Bob Rafelson and Bert Schneider after being inspired by 'A Hard Day's Night', the Beatles movie. They took four young men with some acting and musical experience and developed 'The Monkees'. The show told the story of a young group of musicians trying to make it big in the music industry while having some fun along the way.

The band did have some international hits such as 'Daydream Believer' and 'Last Train to Clarksville'. Funnily enough, the TV show only lasted two seasons, finishing in 1968, but the band continued on until 1971 making records.

At their peak, they sold more records than either The Beatles or The Rolling Stones.
10. Did David Lynch drink WEAK PINTS of beer while making this drama?

Answer: Twin Peaks

For two years, the fictional town of Twin Peaks, Washington, was the scene of intrigue and mystery. Laura Palmer is dead and the FBI has sent Dale Cooper along to investigate. David Lynch and Mark Frost were the two main creators and writers of the show, giving it a surreal, mysterious air.

The town, while appearing very respectable on the surface, hid a much nastier version of itself underneath all that respectability. 'Twin Peaks' was only one air for two seasons (1990-91) yet it made a deep impression in many people's minds.
