Josh was working on a high profile cartel case. The man he was after held a lot of power and was known for killing off the family members of witnesses if they talked. Josh decided to quit when Beth was threatened, but she urged him not to cave in under the pressure. Extensive protection was placed around Beth, including Mick, whom Josh has asked to look over her. In a slight change of tact, the mobster had Josh scooped up outside of Beth's safe house. He was taken in the trunk of a car to be execute or tortured, or both. Beth and Mick used the GPS in Josh's cellular phone to track his location and found him in time to save him. Unfortunately, one of the abductors was not rendered unconscious by Mick, and shot Josh several times through the back seat of the car. Despite a valiant effort on Mick's part to save Josh, he passed away from his wounds. Beth begged Mick to turn Josh in order to save him, but Mick refused, stating that was not saving him, but cursing him.

Jordan Belfi played Beth's boyfriend and fiance, Josh Lindsey.

Mick waxed philosophical about his time as human after 55 years as a vampire. He stated his real age as 85 and said he'd been human (again) for six days, eight hours and forty-two minutes as the episode opened. He expressed how much he loved sleeping in a bed again and that he did not miss his industrial freezer accommodations from the vamp days.

In order, we saw him drink orange juice and then coffee, which he proclaimed tasted better than it used to. Then, we saw him buy a chili dog from a beach side vendor before joining Beth for a picnic.

Guillermo told Josef than Mick was going to try and rescue Ben and Beth as a human. They'd been kidnapped by Dr. Pearce Anders, a vampire who collected and sold rare blood types. Anders tasted Beth after he inured her, and discovered her rare blood type. When Mick awoke from the fight, several hours had passed. He went to Guillermo for aid, and had some glass removed from his leg. Later, Josef appeared at Mick's home to warn him off his task, and when he'd made his point, Mick begged Josef to turn him back. Josef understood Mick's position, and kindly obliged.

Jacob Vargas plays Guillermo, Eric Winter plays Ben Talbot, and Edoardo Ballerini plays Pearce Anders. Eric also played Jason McCallister on the series "Brothers and Sisters" in 2008.

When last seen by Mick, Tierney was fine. She'd had a small argument with her boyfriend, and he'd accused her of keeping secrets. He later revealed to Mick that she'd paid Dean Foster $50,000 to keep quiet about something he knew. Dean was a paparazzo who made a bigger living blackmailing people than he did with the pictures he took. Jason killed Tierney aboard the Queen Mary, which was docked in California.

He hit her over the head with an antique anchor and drug her body out and pushed it overboard.

He needed the insurance from the movie closing to pay off the investors. He'd wasted their money before production had even begun, and they were threatening to kill him if he didn't pay it back. At the end of the episode, Dean Foster was killed by two other paparazzis.

This death was set up by Beth and Josef in order to protect Mick's identity. Greg Pitts played Grant Lewis, Beth's new boss. She quit at the end of the episode to protect Mick and because the magazine had lost all integrity without Maureen.

Mick was suspicious that a vampire was taking the children, but it was just a mentally troubled human man. He bricked the last victim up in his basement, but Mick saved the boy. Ken committed suicide before he could be arrested.

Mick had been wounded attended to his best friend's wounds. When he awoke days later, he was told all of his company had been killed. He went home to the USA eight months later, and did what he had promised his friend. He tried to help take care of the man's widow. Over time, and in shared grief, the two began an affair.

When it was revealed that her husband was still alive after all, Mick disappeared from their lives. The last child taken by the killer was the grandson of his best friend and the man's wife. For a while, Mick thought that Robert (the child's father) may be his own son.

He collected samples and had a DNA test performed. Mick was not Robert's father after all, and that saddened him a bit. Mick used his old army razor to find his human DNA.

His college number was being retired in a ceremony that Josef was involved in, and Mick attended it with Beth. Beth learned that Dominick's agents were vampires who'd been together for 150 years.

When Emma found out that Dominick was also involved with the sexy vampire Lisa, she lost control of herself and snapped his neck. He was found by Josef's human companion Simone in an athletic tub. Emma and Jackson had been together for over 150 years.

She was turned on a ship coming to America and met Jackson when he was a human boxer name Ewan. He asked her to make him a vampire, and the two had been together every since that time. Emma was taken into custody and she threatened to expose the vampire community if Mick did not break her out of jail.

Emma had threatened to expose all of the vampires if she wasn't freed by Mick. She was freed from custody and executed by her vampiric peers. Jackson died as well, as he didn't want to live without her. At the end of the episode, Ben found a thick list of names in the doorway of his office.

As he started to read over the names, a call came in from an unknown source. The person on the other end of the line, a man, told Ben the list was his now, but that he had to wait for further instructions.

The episode's events made Beth realize she wasn't ready for life as a vampire. She told Mick that she knew at some point she'd have to make a choice about becoming a vampire or growing old, and that she never wanted to have to choose. Mick left the apartment and Beth closed the door behind him. Both of them cried out their pain, and then Mick decided he couldn't give up on Beth.

He came back to her and told her he loved her, and that was what mattered. Emma told Beth that she remembered exactly what Jackson was wearing the first time she saw him. So, she asked Mick if he remembered what she had on in the pilot episode.

He recalled every detail, and the couple kissed passionately, but sweetly. The series ended with Beth's door closing and a fade to black as credits began to roll.

It was sad to read that CBS had elected not to renew "Moonlight" for a second season.
