"Will & Grace": "A Chorus Lie" Quotes Quiz

At the beginning of the episode, Jack shows Will the movie he rented for the weekend. Will asks if Jack had brought "Age of Innocence" like he had asked, but Jack replied that he must have misheard. (Instead, he had "turn-your-head-and-cough Army Physicals Caught on Tape", which Will did not look too upset about.) Shortly after Grace arrives, Jack's phone rings.

Answer: per diem

Upon hearing the news about Jack's acceptance to the Gay Men's Chorus, Will asks, "I wonder, is the Gay Men's Chorus really any gayer than the straight men's chorus?"

Answer: "Portabella!"

Jack, in his excitement about the Europe trip, yells out "Portabella!" just before leaving the room. (This is, of course, the name of the mushroom... we aren't certain what he meant to say.)
Later Jack brings up another unique phrase while yelling at Grace (about her seduction of Owen) to "turn it up a nacho!"

Grace hopes that Will will share her weekend plans of watching movies and hating men, but Will already has plans with Karen. He is not thrilled about the idea, but agreed to accompany Karen to a Valentine's Day party on Shelter Island in Stan's absence.

Karen's first words in response are, "Beverly Leslie... You look more like a woman every time I see you."
The two continue to bicker throughout their time at the hotel, especially after Karen claims that Will is accompanying her as her "gigolo".

Beverley ignores Karen's comments and goes on about how "sad" it is that Karen cannot do the traditional spotlight dance without her "husband and a half". Karen becomes disgruntled and Beverley cackles, "Oh ho, how the mighty have fallen!" He adds, "Karen Walker, sad and alone. If I weren't so compassionate, I'd be laughing. Like this." And he proceeds to laugh obnoxiously, until Will arrives.

Jack was just about to do his solo when Owen arrived, explaining that he had tried bangs and it had backfired. The director says, "We understand" (as he smooths his bald head). Owen then takes over the chorus, leaving Jack annoyed. To reciprocate, Jack sets out on revenge to remove Owen from the competition.

After the director leaves, Jack examines the competition and sizes up each competitor. He decides that Burton has a decent voice but his pores can be seen from space, and the other guy has non-musical shoes. He looks over at Owen and thinks, "Now THIS howdy-doody-looking-mother-fella... he could be trouble." They exchange a few words before the director returns to announce that Owen and Jack are in the finals.

While Jack gloats about his reaching the finals, Burton stomps by in disappointment and calls himself a loser. Jack "helps" Burton by intervening and saying, "Oh, Burton. You're right."
Jack decides he should have good karma for helping Burton and then studies Owen, thinking, "What is the ONE thing that could keep him out of the Gay Men's Chorus?"
Immediately after that thought, Owen proceeds to check out the pretty director's assistant and Jack yells out, "Anne Heche Laffoon, he's straight!"

Jack invites Owen to Will's apartment to "info-tain", claiming he is trying to help with no ulterior motives. After Owen tells the story, Jack demands that Owen hug him. Jack passes off the hug as the "straight-guy-double-pat-on-the-back-no-hip-contact-hug" (to which Owen replies that it was actually the "gay-guy-bend-at-the-waist-feel-your-delts-check-out-your-shoes-hug."

Jack hears Grace arrive and excuses himself, then tells Grace the situation about Owen. He explains, "In there right now is a hetero posing as a homo. I need you to help me get proof."
Grace replies, "So you want me to 'in' him for you? Forget it."
Owen then pokes his head out the door and asks Jack if they can get started. When the door closes, Grace whips her head around and asks, "THAT's him?" Jack nods his head and Grace promptly goes to "paint on some cleavage".

When Karen is confronted by Beverley in the hallway outside her hotel room, he accuses her of lying about Will and threatens to let everyone know the truth. He adds, "I'd hate for everyone to find out, but I would love to be the one to tell them." Karen needs to convince Beverley, so as she speaks to Will she begins banging her back against the wall and shouting.
Will is confused and then says, "Oh, my God. If you're about to shed your human form, please don't make my body the next host."
When Karen reveals the truth, Will storms out and leaves in a huff.

When this first attempt fails, Jack drags Grace out of the room and insists that she "turn it up a nacho". When Grace returns she puts the flirt into full gear and "accidentally" spills the Tummy Mint tea on her shirt, "forcing" her to take it off in front of Owen.

He looks on eagerly and says he doesn't mind at all... because he is gay. Grace then asks Owen to feel her jeans, and they begin to make out fiercely.

As Grace and Owen make out, Jack barges into the room and snaps a photo on his camera. Grace is enjoying herself a little too much, and tells Jack to get lost until she is done. Owen throws Grace onto the floor and challenges Jack by admitting that he is straight, but that Jack has no proof.
Jack triumphantly holds up the camera and says, "Exhibit A!"
Owen replies that there is no film in the camera, to which Jack responds by showing Owen the film (and thus exposing it). Jack is furious at the "sneaky hetero", but Owen thanks Grace for "the tea... and A". He gives a manly "YO!" and pumps his fist before exiting.
Grace is thrilled that her flirt is no longer on the fritz and leaves to visit the cute produce guy at the grocery store.

During the final audition Owen and Jack shove each other back and forth, until the lines of the song turn into "Lying-and-a-cheating" and "tubby-and-a-tone-deaf".
After saying the word, Jack can't help but giggle about "heinous".
Owen finally admits that he is straight (to the disappointment of the chorus) and explains that he loves to sing choral music, but that "there is no room for a straight man in that world". He goes on about the "looks and murmurs" he receives because he like girls, and says he just hoped to sing with the choir (and maybe dance a little too). Jack taunts Owen about being disqualified, but the choir director has other plans-- Owen goes to Europe, not Jack.
After the choir leaves, Jack approaches Owen once more and maintains that he still has his dignity, what does Owen have? Owen replies, "I have a free trip to Europe, a huge per diem, and a chance to sing in all the best venues in the world. And a winning smile."
