Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of these does Ian try to help Jill create by the lake?

Answer: Rabbit

At Ian's family cabin, Jill is trained on the waterfront. Ian tells her to imagine a rabbit and consider all of its features, but something is different after she was forced to destroy Pretzel Jack. Ian tells her not to worry since she should be treating her ability like it's a superpower and, when she gets the hang of it, she'll be able to control her creation as though they are puppets.

When Ian guides her through it again, Jill does it. She creates a door and when she opens it, her rabbit is inside.
2. The dog that Jill found in her house was of her own subconscious creation.

Answer: False

Although the rabbit is definitely on the other side of the door, Jill isn't quite prepared for her creation which, though it appears to be a rabbit, isn't quite fully-formed. It stumbles out of the portal and collapses, dead, in front of her and Ian. Ian takes it in stride; they can't all be winners.

He says that, similarly, it took quite a bit of time for him to create her dog-- something she never knew was a creation-- because he wanted to give her a housewarming gift when she and Tom moved in. This is a surprise to Jill, but even more of a surprise is when she finds her phone on the floor, its screen cracked.

She'd never broken a phone before in her life.
3. Tom lets himself into Ian's place, but what prompts him to do so?

Answer: He's letting a dog inside

Tom tries to call Jill but because her phone is dead, he can't get through to her. When he puts away his phone he spends a bit of time with the dog, not really knowing its origins. He picks it up and looks out the window only to see...a similar dog running by. He runs out to chase it and finds it trying to get into Ian's house. He lets himself in.
Jill, looking out at the water, just misses seeing a figure turn the corner of the house behind her and when she goes around to investigate, she finds herself circling back to where she started.
4. Where does Jillian find the stuffed toy?

Answer: In a cabinet

Tom, letting the dog back into Ian's house, lets himself in as well, calling Ian's name in case he may be home. Checking the fridge, he finds nothing more than meat in a jar and bottles of muscle syrup. Checking the basement, he finds several small doors in the wall and shoeboxes of animals Ian created, failing in his attempts. Jill, meanwhile, heads back into Ian's cabin following what she does not know and in doing so she hears breathing from a tall cabinet in the main room.

Hesitantly she opens it to find no one inside, but she does find a stuffed dog and it sparks a long hidden memory from within.

She closes the cabinet as Ian finishes making breakfast.
5. According to Ian, what was his mother's greatest strength (and perhaps her greatest weakness)?

Answer: She was too trusting

Over breakfast, Jill asks Ian why he made the particular dog he did, and he explains that he doesn't know why. Jill, however, recalls having a stuffed animal like the dog when she was really little. He can't explain though. Jill asks Ian what his mother was like, claiming that she's curious to know more about her.

She passed away earlier in the year though, according to him. Her husband was cheating on her though. Jill suggests she's ready to go home and Ian agrees to bring her back. Tom, searching Ian's basement further, finds pictures Ian drew in his youth and digs more to find photographs, some of which contain Jill and her parents. With these, it's easy to connect the dots. Ian and Jill share the same father, but different mothers.
6. How did 'Tall Boy' make it to Ian's house?

Answer: In the back of his truck

On the drive home, Ian suggests to Jill that it might not even be the best thing to return quite yet because of her training, but she doesn't respond until they get back. They pull into Ian's driveway just as Tom passes by the front window. As they head inside, neither of them see the figure crawl out of Ian's truck bed. They find Tom in the kitchen with a table full of Ian's photos and he immediately asks why Ian was at the motel the previous night. Ian initially lies and claims he wasn't, but all of the evidence points to him, and Jill reveals that she knows who he is. With nowhere to hide, Ian is revealed, out in the open, as Jill's half-brother.
7. What did Ian do with his father's body?

Answer: Placed it in his garage

Ian believes that he was still in the right for contacting Jill the way he did, even if she's angry that he lied, and he insists that he made a grand gesture for her, bringing her and Tom out to the garage and revealing that he killed their father. When they open the garage door they find several copied and created dogs, all eating at the body on the floor. Ian suggests that they're on the edge of something and they can all move forward if she wants to.

It's all up to her. She takes Tom's phone and calls the detectives, bringing them to Ian's house to deal with the situation. During this, Ian calls off his Tall Boy, preventing him from causing harm.

When the detectives arrive, Ian admits to murdering his father, Jason, the Ms. Moss, and the former owners of the house, the O'Connells.

He willingly goes with the cops.
8. Jill and Tom create a door together, and inside it is a fully-formed human baby.

Answer: False

Jill blames herself for all that's happened and Tom tells her not to. He still wants a family with her and always has, but Jill is scared because of what she's capable of. Tom asks what he can do before they head to the bedroom. Neither of them notice as the lights flicker around them and a door forms in the closet...at least until it's too late.

The horizontal, blue door that forms there seems to have something inside, and when they finally go to approach it it's revealed to be something resembling a crying baby, but not fully formed. Tom tries to grab it, but his grip nearly punctures its skin. Jill holds it instead, like a mother, but it's clear that it's dying.
9. The detectives responsible for transporting Ian die when they have to stop their vehicle. What's the reason they did this?

Answer: They were behind a stopped school bus

The detectives drive Ian towards the police station but find themselves being forced to stop behind a school bus on the route. They ponder what to classify Ian as (a mass murderer? a serial killer?) as the 'Tall Boy' approaches from down the road behind them, picking up a pickaxe and a motorized saw from a nearby construction site.

The 'Tall Boy', in full view of the bus in front, uses the pickaxe to pull off the car's windshield before tearing into the detectives and freeing Ian from the back seat.

As police reinforcements rush back to the crime scene, Ian walks back home.
10. Jillian finds the note on Ian's driveway asking her to meet him at which of these spots?

Answer: The ghost neighbourhood

At home, Jill suggests that Tom go out and get some fresh air to relax while she stays with their creation, and while he doesn't want to leave her, she insists. He exits the front door just as Ian returns, covered in blood. Tom refuses to let him in though, even as Ian threatens to kill again.

It's a bad decision. As Tom yells to a nearby cop for help, Ian uses the 'Tall Boy' to kill the officer with the motorized saw and blames him for it. He then creates a door in the doorway to Tom and Jill's house, revealing one of his drawn creations on the other side. Inside the house, Jill apologizes to her doomed creation as it dies in her arms.

When she finally leaves it behind, she descends the stairs and calls for Tom but finds herself alone in the house.

She sees Ian's new door as soon as she exits and finds it empty, but there is a note left for her. Written in the police officer's blood, she's told to meet Ian in the ghost neighbourhood.
