Video Games Quiz: Amplitude: 10 Questions | Video Games

This quiz is on the PS2 rhythm game "Amplitude". The object of the game is to move around tracks, each pertaining to one instrument and release the energy from the circles on these tracks. It's a great game, and I recommend "Amplitude" to anyone.

"Boom" by Payable on Death is remixed by The Crystal Method. Other songs by P.O.D. include "Alive" and "Satellite". This is the first song that you play in Netropolis, which also includes "Cherry Lips" by Garbage and "Baseline" by Quarashi.
2. Which of these is not a playable multiplayer mode in "Amplitude"?

Answer: Co-op

Unfortunately, there are no co-operative modes in "Amplitude". It does however feature One on One (or up to four with a multi-tap), Dual (a HORSE like game), and Remix. (where partners make their own background sounds using different tracks)
3. "Amplitude" is playable online.

Answer: True

"Amplitude" was one of the first Sony Playstation Two games to be featured online, using the PS2 Network Adapter and a demo for this game was even placed on the original online setup disc.
4. Which company developed "Amplitude"?

Answer: Harmonix

Harmonix Music developed "Amplitude", and are also known for the "Karaoke Revolution" games on PS2, which use a microphone that allows the user to sing.
5. How many songs are featured in "Amplitude"?

26 songs are featured in the game including songs by Blink-182, David Bowie, Herbie Hancock, Slipknot, Freezepop and Symbion Project, to name a few.
6. Which is the name of custom characters that can be created?

Answer: FreQs

FreQs are completely customizable, and more clothes and features are unlocked when boss battles are beaten throughout the game. There is also a selection of default FreQs for those who don't want to make their own. FreQs are shown in the corner of the screen while playing, with the instrument that is currently being played.

This screen can be made larger, smaller, or turned off in the options.
7. Which was the prequel to the game "Amplitude"?

Answer: Frequency

"Frequency" included many of the same features, but was improved on for "Amplitude". Some of the same bands from "Frequency" appeared in "Amplitude", such as Freezepop, Symbion Project, and BT.
8. What is the highest multiplier possible in "Amplitude"?

Answer: x8

Multipliers are found when a track is beaten, and the user then moves to another track without missing a beat. This increases the possible score for each track. Once a user reaches a x8 multiplier, it won't go any higher. In "Frequency", the highest multiplier possible was x6.
9. How many difficulty levels can be found in "Amplitude"?

Answer: 4

Mellow, Normal, Brutal, and Insane are the four difficulty levels of "Amplitude". While Mellow and Normal can be beaten by most, Brutal and Insane take a high level of skill. Insane difficulty will throw extremely difficult patterns at you consecutively.
10. Which song is the last to be beaten in Stage Five, the Blastlands?

Answer: "Komputer Kontroller" - Robot Rockerz

"Komputer Kontroller" is the final song that needs to be beaten on Insane difficulty. Other songs in this area include "The Rock Show" by Blink-182 and "Synthesized" by Symbion Project.
