Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the first "BioShock" game, Jack, the protagonist, begins the game with the Wrench. What is the first weapon of "BioShock 2"?

Answer: Drill

Playing the mysterious Subject Delta in this visit to Rapture, your first weapon is the characteristic drill attached to a Big Daddy's arm-- after all, you are a Big Daddy prototype. The Drill requires fuel in order to be charged and spun; you can also beat enemies with it using a strike attack.

This strike can, in turn, be charged up by Gene Tonics (one, for example, gives it the power of frost). The drill is a fairly strong close-combat weapon. Keep in mind, however, that it's not effective against groups of enemies or foes with stronger armor.
2. Little Sisters can be found all over Rapture and you have the choice to harvest them or them to collect which of these?

Answer: ADAM

In the original "BioShock", the player could make a choice upon defeating a Big Daddy as to whether or not they would Rescue or Harvest the Little Sisters, using them to reap the rewards of ADAM at their local Gene Bank. In "BioShock 2", however, since Subject Delta is a Big Daddy, you can adopt the Little Sisters instead of harvesting them.

When adopting, the Little Sister rests on your shoulder until you find a body that can be harvested for ADAM; you can harvest two bodies per Little Sister.

When the Little Sister is collecting ADAM, you'll need to protect her from rampant Splicers who-- of course-- will come form nowhere with the knowledge that it's the worst possible time. When you've collected enough, you can bring the Little Sister to a vent to either send her on her way or harvest her for more...but that's your choice as well.
3. Is it possible to travel while submerged in water?

Answer: Yes

Because your character, Subject Delta, resides in a large suit, you're able to travel underwater on many occasions. In fact, waling about on the beautiful ocean floor happens, often at surprisingly inopportune times (ie. when you're trying to get from Point A to Point B, often without requiring a detour).

When underwater, you may actually be able to find ADAM on the ocean floor or hiding in the 'decor' of the sea. The entirety of Rapture, like in the first "BioShock" game, is found at the bottom of the sea.

Many regions of the city contain leaks from a state of disrepair and to get from place to place, you need to take a train or other form of transportation depending.
4. While exploring Pauper's Drop, you need to search for Grace Holloway. What is her profession?

Answer: Jazz singer

Taking the undersea train to Pauper's Drop, Subject Delta will need to search through cafes, shops, and residences to find Grace Holloway, a jazz singer who once resided in Sinclair's Hotel. The way will be blocked off, so some research will need to be done to clear out some rubble (though this can be done by locating a research camera in the pharmacy.

When you finally find Grace hiding away in a secret room in the hotel (behind the closet of her original room) you have the choice of either killing her or sparing her life. If you save her, she'll help you as you make your way back to the train station, supplying you with robotic back-up.
5. Which of these does not typically need to be hacked?

Answer: Pneumo-Tubes

While hacking in the original "Bioshock" required that the player participate in a water pipe minigame, directing water through pipes from start to finish in an attempt to secure control of electronics, this game revises the system entirely, tossing aside the pipes in favour of a more user-friendly hacking system. Ironic, eh? A bar appears onscreen when you attempt to hack anything.

The goal is to press a button as a meter scrolls into a green or blue zone. Pressing in an uncoloured area will hurt Subject Delta while pressing it in the red will also trigger an alarm. Hitting the blue part of the bar will give an added bonus. On a Health Station, for example, pressing in the blue will result in a free First Aid Kit being dropped.
6. Subject Delta can utilize Hack Darts to take control of electronics from a distance. Aside from Remote Hack Darts, what other darts are available?

Answer: Automatic Hack Darts

The Hack Tool is a 'weapon' found in the Atlantic Express depot early on in the game and while Remote Hack Darts, which allow you to hack items from a distance, are more common, the player can also locate Automatic Hack Darts throughout Rapture. These rare, valuable items allow you to automatically hack into turrets and security cameras hassle-free, without needing to go through the hacking bar. Of course, this doesn't allow you to take advantage of possible bonuses that you could receive from hacking and landing on the blue parts of the bars. The Hack Tool is also used to deploy Miniature Turrets which, although not required in the game, can prove to be useful if properly utilized.
7. To get into Dionysus Park, you need to flood which of these game settings?

Answer: Siren Alley

Siren Alley is the fifth major area of the game and the goal here is to complete all of your necessary tasks in the Red Light District, grab the Spear Gun, and flood the entire place to get into the previously-flooded Dionysus Park, a location which was once home to Sophia Lamb. Ironically, Dionysus Park was previously flooded because of a sabotage by Stanley Poole, who went out of his way to cover his tracks after abusing the Little Sisters' Orphanage nearby. You can choose to kill him or spare his life when you gain access to the Atlantic Express booth.
8. What is the maximum amount of Gene Tonics you can use?

Answer: Twenty-four

Although Gene Tonics in the original "Bioshock" were spread out over different categories (eg. Defensive, etc.) this game simplifies the process, allowing you to purchase Gene Tonic Slots from the Gatherer's Gardens and simply work at a single unit for all of your Gene Tonics whether they boost your attacks, defenses, hacking ability, or otherwise.

There is no possible way to equip all of the available Gene Tonics, but you can switch them around at the Gene Banks found all over the game to get the most suitable combination for your circumstances. Plasmids are approached in the same way (and upgraded throughout the game) but you get less of them.
9. From whom must you collect a genetic key in Fontaine Futuristics in order to access the final stage of the game in Persephone?

Answer: Gil Alexander

The penultimate stage of the game is set in Fontaine Futuristics, apparently the major destination at which Subject Delta can access Eleanor's prison. Heading through here, four ADAM-infused flowers must be located to lure Gil Alexander's mutated form, known as 'Alex the Great' out of hiding.

This will ultimately allow you to steal his genetic key, destroy him once and for all, and use the key to access a secret, underwater panel. Finally, you'll be granted access to the region of Rapture known as Persephone...but it won't be easy.
10. In the end of the game, Subject Delta and Eleanor must do which of the following?

Answer: Escape Rapture

In the end of the game, when Subject Delta and a Big Sister-suited Eleanor reach the depths of Inner Persephone and attempt to escape via a large pod, they discover that Sofia has beaten them to it, flooded the inside, and made escape nearly impossible. To make the pod accessible, the two must awaken the Little Sisters in the Pediatrics Wards of the complex (there are two) and use them to heat the water enough to convert it to steam and empty it out.
When all is said and done, Inner Persephone will be sunk to the bottom of a trench and everyone will need to make their escape.

The ending of the game depends on your moral choices in the game. Saving the Little Sisters and showing mercy to certain people gives you an honourable death-- you become Eleanor's conscience and she goes on to spread her utopian views on the surface with the Little Sisters at her side-- even Sofia Lamb is spared. If your choices were less favourable, you could very well end up with a monster on your hands.
