Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What's the name of the player's character in the game?

Answer: Corvo

Corvo Attano is the game's hero. He's the guy that gets framed for the murder of an empress and sets out to get even. As the blurb on the game's box says; "Revenge solves everything"!
2. You have a lot of powers at your disposal in the game. One of the most useful is the one that allows you to move from A to B almost instantly. What's it called?

Answer: Blink

Powers are acquired, and built upon, by collecting runes that are located throughout the game. Blink is the first power that you're given in the game and it's probably the most useful, whether you're playing a stealthy or combat-oriented game.
3. In the first mission you have to break out of the prison (where you're due to be executed) before you can start seeking bloody, or not so bloody, revenge. What's the name of this prison?

Answer: Coldridge

You have to get out of Coldridge (by killing, stealth or a bit of both) and pick up your stuff before you can really start getting to work on clearing your name. Incidentally, Pavelock Prison was the jail in "Thief: Deadly Shadows".
4. Once you get out of jail you operate from a base in the city of Dunwall for a large part of the rest of the game. What kind of a place is it?

Answer: A pub (inn)

The inn's called the "Hounds Pits Pub" and Corvo has a room in the attic all to himself there. There's also a workshop there, run by a chap called Piero, where he can purchase upgrades and ammunition for the missions ahead.
5. A particularly memorable character in "Dishonored" is called Granny Rags and she turns up a few times throughout the game. The voice acting for her was done by someone rather famous. Who?

Answer: Susan Sarandon

Granny Rags (aka Vera Moray) is a blind, old witch with a nice line in crazy talk. Carrie Fisher also has a voice role in the game, playing the female Propaganda Officer, who takes over from her male counterpart (if you decide to kill him).
6. Dunwall is a steampunk city that relies on what for the powering of its technology?

Answer: Whale oil

Dunwall is a greedy consumer of whale oil, which is gathered from, er, whales. Whales are slaughtered constantly in order to power the various contraptions that are seen in the game.
7. One mission in the game requires you to seize the scientist, Molotov, from his home in order to interrogate him.

Answer: False

The scientist's name is Sokolov. Once captured and interrogated at the "Hounds Pits Pub", Sokolov gives the necessary information for Corvo to move on to the next mission.
8. You meet many bad guys in the game, but there's one type that are a real pain, especially if you're trying not to kill anybody. They strut around on mechanised stilts and are armed with bows. What are they commonly known as?

Answer: Tallboys

The tallboys are the elite members of Dunwall City Watch. Due to their height, they have a better field of view than other enemies and they generally can't be knocked out, only killed or avoided.
9. The game's character spends a lot of time helping out the empire loyalists who wish to restore The Empire of the Isles to its former glory. The trouble is, this group are led by an admiral who has other things in mind. What's this tyrant admiral's name?

Answer: Admiral Havelock

Farley Havelock was an admiral in the Gristol navy before he was dismissed for refusing to sail under the command of the Lord Regent. Although seemingly a good guy, he shows his true intent near the end of the game when it becomes obvious that he aims to seize power for himself after killing many of the loyalists and kidnapping the murdered empress's daughter, Emily.
10. After realising that the admiral is a bad guy after all, your character has to pursue him for the final showdown. What kind of a place does this encounter happen in?

Answer: A lighthouse

The lighthouse, on Kingsparrow Island, also has a comprehensive fort attached to it. Admiral Havelock holds the kidnapped Emily in the lighthouse and the ending to the game always occurs here. Your actions at this point (whether you rescue Emily or not, for example), along with all your previous actions in the game will lead you to one of three cut-scenes showing: (1) A happy, contented empire, (2) A plague ridden empire or (3) The crumbling of Dunwall city and the fleeing of Corvo by boat.
