Answer: The Rakyat

There were a few factions on the Rook islands. The Rakyat were the natives of the islands, and were being harassed by foreign forces. When Jason came to the island, they recruited him and started to take back their island. On the north islands, Vaas' pirate thugs ran the outposts. On the south island, Vaas' boss, Hoyt Volker subjugated the Rakyat with his private military company.

The United States of America was barely seen on the island. They had a CIA agent who helped guide Jason's efforts against Vaas, but no strong or noticeable military presence. Most of the privateers working for Hoyt Volker were American, though.

Answer: Green

There were many different plants that Jason could collect on the islands, but they were all divided into one of five different types: green, red, amber, blue, and white. Green herbs were usually associated with healing, red with combat, amber with hunting, and blue with exploration.

More complex syringes required different colours of leaves to be mixed together. White leaves were components in the most expensive and advanced syringes.

Answer: Grant, Jason's brother

Jason came to the Rook islands on a skydiving trip with his brothers, Riley and Grant, and their friends Liza, Daisy, Oliver, and Keith.

At the beginning of the game, Jason and Grant were in Vaas' prison together. Grant managed to break free using his army training, and the brothers made their way through the camp. Grant taught Jason a few tricks about stealth during this tutorial. Just before they could escape, though, Vaas shot Grant in the neck. Jason tried to save his brother, but could not prevent him from bleeding out. Jason then had to flee from Vaas' guards.

Jason's mission then became to save his friends and younger brother, and to make Vaas pay for killing Grant.

Answer: Activating radio towers

There were quite a few optional components in "Far Cry 3" that could be completed for better and better rewards. Activating the radio towers around the Rook islands would reveal areas of the map and would make it easier for vendors to bring wares in from outside. As a token of their appreciation, they would make new weapons available for free. Jason could purchase any weapon or just activate enough towers until the desired weapons were free. Attachments and custom paint jobs still had to be purchased separately. Activating a radio tower would also unlock a Supply Drop side quest.

Gathering collectables such as relics, memory cards, and letters of the lost would unlock special weapons and new syringe recipes. Taking over enemy outposts would give Jason new fast travel locations, make the surrounding area free of enemies, and would unlock Path of the Hunter and Wanted Dead side quests.

"Far Cry 3" had a full working version of Texas Hold'em Poker that Jason could play to earn more money. It even became a plot point later on.

Answer: Dr. Earnhardt's mansion

Dr. Earnhardt was an Englishman with a tragic past. He moved to the Rook islands and took up drugs as an escape. He was an excellent craftsman of narcotics and remedies, and saved Daisy after she escaped from Vaas. His mansion was high on a mountain at the north-west corner of the Rook islands. He let Jason take his friends to the cave under his mansion to keep them safe.

Citra's temple was where Jason was made more familiar with the trials and rituals of the Rakyat. Amanaki Town was the town Dennis brought Jason to after Jason escaped Vaas' prison during the intro. It was the first fast travel location available to Jason.

Answer: Crafting with animal hides

At the beginning of the game, Jason was a scared tourist out of his depth. He had to become a proficient killer and learn how to survive on the Rook islands if he was going to get his friends back. To this end, Jason could take up hunting, and use animal pelts to build new slings and pockets to hold more syringes, weapons, ammunition, and ordinance.

Syringes were crafted using plants. Leveling up gave Jason skill points that he could spend on new skills. There were no pack mules in "Far Cry 3".

Answer: Takedowns

The very first skill Jason learned was the basic takedown. If Jason could get close enough to an enemy without being detected, he could perform a takedown, where he could silently kill the enemy with his knife. As Jason gained more skill points, he could unlock more advanced takedowns, silently dispatching enemies from above and below.

He could take an enemy's own knife and hurl it at another target, or pull the pin of a grenade and use his target as a stumbling time bomb.

Answer: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

The quotes from "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" were clues to reinforce the idea that not everything on the Rook islands made sense. Very few people were completely honest with Jason, and the jungle was known to have a bizarre effect on the people who stayed there too long. The lines were also there to reinforce the idea that Jason (through whose eyes the player saw the world) might be an unreliable narrator.

"Snow White" was the nickname that Vaas' pirates gave Jason.

Answer: Boar

Whenever Jason got enough experience, he leveled up and got a skill point. He could use the skill point to learn a new skill in one of three trees: Heron, Shark, or Spider. Heron skills focused on long range kills and mobility. Shark skills focused on defense and healing, and strong takedowns. Spider skills focused on stealth kills and survival.

Scattered throughout the Rook islands were 120 ancient stone relics. They were shaped after the Heron, Shark, Spider, or Boar. Heron relics were usually found in high places, sharks were found in or near water, spider relics were cleverly concealed, and boar relics often required blasting away walls and rocks to get at them. Collecting relics would unlock some incredibly good weapons and syringes, and would help complete Jason's Tatau. Collecting sixty earned you an achievement.

Answer: Knife

The Rakyat traditions focused on killing enemies with a knife. Most of Jason's takedowns used a knife to kill a target, and the Wanted Dead side quests required that a knife be used to kill the target. All the boss characters in "Far Cry 3" were killed with knives, though usually by quick time events in a cut scene rather than in the open world.

The Colt 1911 pistol was the first gun Jason got in "Far Cry 3". The bow and arrow was the poster weapon of "Far Cry 3", and was excellent for stealth kills. It also had a damage bonus against animals, which made it excellent for hunting.
