Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What roster was Bret Boone on in the game?

Answer: Cincinnati Reds

Boone was a third generation Major Leaguer, with father Bob and grandfather Ray having also played in the big leagues. Bret had a successful career, having in excess of 250 home runs and 1,000 runs batted in.
2. Albert Belle played left field for what team?

Answer: Chicago White Sox

Belle was a five time All Star during his run in the Majors. In 1995, he led the American league in home runs with 50 and tied the runs batted in lead with Mo Vaughn in the same season with 126.
3. If I were to say Todd Zeile, what roster would you think he was on?

Answer: Los Angeles Dodgers

Zeile had played for many teams over his career, which included Los Angeles, Texas, Philadelphia, St. Louis, and Florida, among others. He had, arguably, his best season in 1997, with 31 home runs and 90 runs batted in.
4. Jason Isringhausen was on which roster?

Answer: Free Agent List

Jason was originally lauded as a can't miss starting pitcher when he arrived in the Majors, but ran into some problems. He resurfaced as a top closer in 2000 with the Oakland Athletics. Isringhausen saved a staggering 47 games in 2004 while wearing a Cardinal uniform.
5. Matt Williams had played for several teams throughout his career, but which roster was he on in this game?

Answer: Arizona Diamondbacks

If not for the expansion draft of 1998, Matt would have worn the Indians uniform in this game. Major League Baseball had a brand new franchise in Arizona. He wanted to play closer to home, so he got traded to Arizona for fellow third baseman Travis Fryman. In 1994, Williams was on pace to challenge the then home run record 61, held by Roger Maris, before the strike ended the season.
6. Jeff Bagwell was on what roster?

Answer: Houston Astros

In what is considered the most lopsided trade in the history of Major League Baseball, Bagwell was traded from Boston to Houston for pitcher Larry Andersen. Bagwell, or Bags, as many call him went on to have a Hall of Fame worthy career. He won the National League Most Valuable Player award in 1994.
7. Jose Offerman came up as a Dodger, but what team was he on in this game?

Answer: Kansas City Royals

Jose played in the Majors from 1990-2005. He had his best season in 1998 when he batted .315 with 13 triples and 45 stolen bases.
8. Luis Gonzalez was on what team's roster?

Answer: Detroit Tigers

Gonzalez has played for many teams which included Los Angeles, Florida, Detroit, and Arizona. In 2001, he hit an amazing 57 home runs, while winning a World Series title with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
9. What roster did Rafael Palmeiro's name appear on?

Answer: Baltimore Orioles

Rafael Palmeiro was one of baseball's premiere power hitters during his career. He smacked a total of 569 home runs and drove in over 1800 runs.
10. What roster had the name Chili Davis on it?

Answer: New York Yankees

Chili made his pro debut in 1981 with the San Francisco Giants. Born in Jamaica, Davis was a member of the 1991 World Series winning Minnesota Twins.
