King Slime is level 40, while Mushmom is level 60. Mushmom is found if you go through Pig Park near Henesys. This big mushroom spawns only once every 45 minutes or so, and if you change channels or log off, you get sent back to Henesys. Unfortunately, people will often "KS" (Kill Steal) you if you're fighting Mushmom alone. This can be very frustrating.

2. Of the following monsters, which one does not have an unavoidable attack?

Answer: Hector

With the exception of Nependeath/Dark Nependeath (and some higher-leveled monsters such as Thanatos and Gatekeeper), monsters will only attack you if you attack them first. Some Nependeath and almost all Dark Nependeath will attack without provocation. Torties spit venom at you, Nependeath spit acid, and Lupins throw bananas. Luster Pixies, along with their weaker brethren the Lunar Pixies and Star Pixies, have a magical attack that can be jumped over.

The same is true for the aliens in Omega Sector and the Hectors and White Pangs in El Nath.

3. What monster must be defeated in order to summon Alishar?

Answer: Dirty Ratz

In the boss room of the Ludibrium Party Quest (the stage known as "A Crack in the Wall"), there is a single Dirty Ratz near a box. Like Stage 7, in which you must kill the monster to open the boxes that'll summon the Rombots, you must kill the Dirty Ratz to open this box. A ranged attack or a Spearman with a long spear can hit the monster and open the box.

4. There are many monsters with the word "Jr." in front of their names. Most of these monsters are smaller, lower-leveled versions of another monster. Which of these Jr. monsters has no larger form?

Answer: Jr. Effy

Jr. Necki, Jr. Sentinel, Jr. Cellion, Jr. Lioner, Jr. Grupin, Jr. Wraith, Jr. Boogie, Jr. Pepe, Jr. Cerebes, Jr. Yeti, Jr. Effy, Dark Jr. Yeti, and Jr. Balrog are all of the "Junior" monsters (not including Aqua Road monsters). The ones that have no larger form are the Jr. Necki and Jr. Effy (a snake, a ghost, and a firebomb, respectively).

The larger form of the Jr. Balrog is the much-feared Crimson Balrog. The larger form of the Jr. Boogie is a MapleSEA monster only.

5. Once you reach lvl60, you can no longer buy or forge weapons using an NPC. If you don't want to buy them in the Free Market, they must be obtained by monsters. If you're a Spearman, which monster will drop both your lvl60 Spear and lvl60 Polearm?

Answer: Taurospear

The Taurospear, found in decent numbers in the Sanctuary, is a powerful lvl75 monster. It drops many weapons, including the lvl60 weapon of every type and class. The Deep Buffoon, interestingly enough, drops both the lvl60 and lvl80 Spear.

6. Some monsters attack without provocation. Nependeath/Dark Nependeath are two monsters known to be "auto aggro". What monster will attack without provocation but may not harm you?

Answer: Thanatos

Thanatos is a unique monster found in the bowels of the Clocktower. It is unique in the way that it attacks differently depending on the player's relative position to it. If Thanatos is facing to the left, it uses an ice attack. If Thanatos is facing to the right, it attacks with status effects only. As long as Thanatos faces right, even a low-level player can survive its attacks.

7. Cellion, Lioner, and Grupin make up the trio of monsters known as the "Cats" (their Jr. forms are known as the "kitties"). What other monster resembles these "Cats"?

Answer: Lucida

A Lucida is a lvl73 monster that looks similar to the other cats. In fact, it's in basically the same area as well. Its feline relatives are a full 20 levels below the Lucida, but otherwise nearly identical. For reference, the Bain is a powerful dog, the Hector is a wolf, and Leatty is nothing but a fuzzball.

8. How many different types of Drakes are there?

Answer: Five

In order of level, from lowest to highest, they are the Copper Drake, Drake, Red Drake, Ice Drake, and Dark Drake. Drakes are some of the best monsters to train on from lvl50-60, although most people choose Jr. Yetis as a training medium until 55.

9. What monster has the highest Weapon Defense?

Answer: Zakum 3

Obviously, the highest-leveled monster has the highest Weapon Defense. Zakum 1 has 1000, Zakum 2 has 1100, Zakum 3 has 1200. Zakum's Arm 8 has 1050. The only other monster that comes close to this is the Papulatus Clock, which has 1000 Weapon Defense.

10. If you want to play Match Cards, you're going to need a lot of cards. These cards can be obtained by monsters. What is the highest-leveled monster that drops a Monster Card?

Answer: All monsters drop them

At one time, only certain monsters dropped cards. Now, all of them do. It's rare to get one from a boss monster, however, and you can't get them from PQ monsters.

11. Many monsters have elemental vulnerabilities. Which monster is unaffected by Ice-element attacks?

Answer: Grim Phantom Watch

Master Soul Teddy is the only other monster unaffected by Ice-type spells. Poison and Heal are other spell elements that certain monsters are invulnerable to. In fact, Heal is an element that only damages Dark and Undead monsters.

12. In one quest on Victoria Island, an adventurer must collect 2300 Cursed Dolls from the Zombie Lupin. In Omega Sector, you must collect a different item in a similar manner. What monster drops this item?

Answer: Mateon

Mateon are the easiest of the "octopus aliens" in Omega Sector. Some would say the Grays are stronger, due to their magic attacks, but the "octopus aliens" are higher-leveled, with the MT-09 being lvl54. The Chief Gray is lvl49.

13. When you're a low-level player, you need to beware of malicious users with Summoning Sacks. How many different types of Summoning Sacks are there in MapleGlobal since the release of Omega Sector?

Answer: Six

The Different Sack summons Panda Teddy, Tick, Tick-Tock, and Brown Teddy. The Toy Robot sack summons Robo and Master Robo. The Toy Soldier Sack summons Toy Trojans. The Alien Sack summons Barnard Grays, Zeta Grays, Ultra Grays, and Chief Grays. The Black Sack, available through the GM Events, summons the Jr. Balrog, and a rare summoning sack available through the Gachapon summons a Mushmom.

14. One of the chosen training areas for people lvl55-60 (and also a common hacker area) is the "Drake's Meal Table". In the very center of this high-level area, though, is a low-level monster. What out-of-place monster will you find here?

Answer: Snail

Yes, a tiny green Snail, the weakest monster in the game, appears in the center of "Drake's Meal Table". Among all of the Cold Eyes, Drakes, and Wild Cargoes, this Snail is no threat at all. Whoever placed this monster here obviously had quite a sense of humor. There is a similar situation in the Tomb, where grouped with the Skeleton Commanders is a Red Snail.

15. Jr. Yetis in "Watch Out for Icy Path I" will sometimes transform into Yetis.

Answer: True

Any Jr. Yeti has the potential to transform into a Yeti. The transformation is completely random, but in the "Ice Valley" maps, almost all Jr. Yetis with very few exceptions will transform. Since Jr. Yetis are lvl50 and Yetis are 65, this can be devastating to a person unprepared for the transformation.
