Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Gumo's Hideout and location of the Water Vein.

Answer: Moon Grotto

Gumo's Hideout makes up the southern half of the Moon Grotto, a region on the map that descends into a spiky and deep trench as Ori hunts for the Water Vein, the first item needed to unlock a dungeon (specifically the Ginso Tree). Aside from the normal obstacles, Ori will need to dodge harmful laser blasts along the way.

This region of the world is home to an Ancestral Tree that allows you to learn the Double Jump skill, needed to escape the area and, later, climb the Ginso Tree.
2. The final location visited in the game.

Answer: Mount Horu

Mount Horu is the last stop for Ori on his adventure through the Blind Forest. To get inside, he needs the Sunstone in his possession, and in the order of things, all abilities must be obtained. A dangerous volcano on the verge of catastrophe, Mount Horu is the most dangerous spot on the map and is the home to the Element of Warmth.

The climactic final battle against Kuro (which is more of a final chase) occurs in this spot.
3. Home of the Spirit Tree.

Answer: Hollow Grove

The Hollow Grove is, effectively, the central chunk of Nibel. Visited early on, it's known for being the home of the Spirit Tree, and while you won't have too much interaction with it, it does serve to be a landmark that connects to all other destinations visited throughout the game. Because of this, there are many tendrils of paths branching off from the main area, each of which has distinct environmental attributes. To the west things get windy; to the east, things get wet.
4. Location at which Ori learns the Bash skill.

Answer: Ginso Tree

Bash comes in extremely handy throughout the game as it allows Ori to create momentum by charging and launching with the help of enemies, projectiles, and certain obstacles. It's also the only way Ori can make it to the top of the Ginso Tree, the game's fist dungeon and the home of the corrupted Element of Waters. Once Ori reaches the heart of the tree and clears the decay, water will flood through the dungeon and make it inaccessible for the rest of the game. That said, the action will clear all polluted waters.
5. One of two locations where you control Naru instead of Ori.

Answer: Swallow's Nest

You actually control Naru before controlling Ori during the game's prologue in Swallow's Nest. The only other time you can do this is at the very end of the game outside of mount Horu. Specifically, Naru is controlled during the Great Storm when you locate Ori for the first time.

When Naru embraced the light, she took Ori in. Swallow's Nest is revisited in cutscenes throughout the game, but you can no longer control any characters there after Ori sets out.
6. Dungeon found in the Valley of the Winds.

Answer: Forlorn Ruins

The second of three dungeons in the game, the Forlorn ruins are ice-covered and seemingly hollow as a result of the changes to the region. The former home of the Gumon species, it was once a technologically-advanced location but it has since gone cold (with only Gumo surviving).

The building is home to the Element of Winds, so Kuro's feather is of particular use here. To navigate the building, Ori must use the Light Vessel to protect himself from the Gumon structures. Gumo will later take this vessel to revive Naru.
7. Where Sein is found.

Answer: Sunken Glades

The Sunken Glades are the first area visited in the game following the prologue in the Swallow's Nest and these low swamps are the perfect spot to begin the ascent to the Spirit Tree. The first order of business, however, is to locate the tiny light known as Sein who will assist Ori on the journey by providing advice and powerful attacks to combat foes.

Besides these early instances, the Sunken Glades are rarely revisited in the course of the adventure.
8. Destination where Ori learns Stomp.

Answer: Thornfelt Swamp

Thornfelt Swamp is really only accessible (to a large extent) after completion of the Ginso Tree dungeon as this swamp is rife with bodies of water and Ori is unable to dive in until the corruption is rid from the region. So with this in mind, Ori needs to get the Element of Water back in order before he can be propelled deep enough into the Thornfelt Swamp to make a difference, and once inside, he can't escape until he claims the Swamp skill from an Ancestral Tree inside. Fortunately, Stomp is a handy ability, good for defeating tougher foes but also breaking crumbling ground away to access other areas.
9. Unvisited by Kuro due to the light of the Sunstone.

Answer: Sorrow Pass

Sorrow Pass is the penultimate location to visit in "Ori and the Blind Forest" because you can't head up to it until after finishing up and collecting everything needed from the Forlorn Ruins (and sending the winds on up). Using Kuro's Feather and a number of skills, Ori can maneuver through tight and spiked passages and reach the sunny top of the pass to find the Sunstone, the last item needed to access the third and final dungeon, Mount Horu. Kuro never visits the peak at Sorrow Pass for fear of the light of this artifact.
10. Home to the Shrouded Lantern.

Answer: Misty Woods

The Misty Woods, found at the far west of Nibel, are home to a series of forested passageways that are treacherous at the best of times. Unlike most of the map, the corridors found here can change almost on a whim, shifting when Ori reaches certain checkpoints along the way to reorient and disorient.

The area can only be straightened out once and for all when Ori brings Atsu's Torch back to the Shrouded Lantern. The goal in this area is to collect the Gumon Seal to access the Forlorn Ruins.
