Though he is cloaked at the time, Xigbar first speaks with Sora in the Bailey at Hollow Bastion after Sora has fought off some Heartless. Sora first meets the cloaked Xaldin briefly in Beast's Castle, Demyx in the Underworld, and Axel when he returns to Hollow Bastion to fight off a huge army of Heartless.

It is easy to see the similarities - Xaldin is armed with lances, and so are Dragoons. When you fight Xaldin, he also performs the Jump attack that is characteristic of Dragoons. Also, when fighting both Xaldin and Dragoons, Sora has the chance to use the reaction command Learn to mimic the Jump attack.

The Samurai and Assassin Nobodies may have similarities to some Organization XIII members, but not enough to make a solid connection. Demyx's similarity to Dancers is not as obvious as Xaldin's to Dragoons, but both Demyx and Dancers move in a graceful, flowing manner, and Demyx tries his best to make a song and dance out of his battle with Sora.

Xigbar speaks to Sora in Hollow Bastion (while cloaked), when Sora revisits The Land of Dragons, and just before he fights him in The World That Never Was. Luxord, Xemnas and Axel only speak to Sora in two different worlds - Luxord in Port Royal and The World That Never Was, Xemnas in Hollow Bastion and the World That Never Was, and Axel in Hollow Bastion and in the realm between Twilight Town and The World That Never Was.

Incidentally, Saïx appeared to Sora in Twilight Town, Hollow Bastion and The World That Never Was.

Nobodies are created from the body and soul of a human once their heart has left them. However, Kairi's heart brought Sora back into being, so Sora's body and soul were not completely lost. Being the Keyblade's chosen one had nothing to do with it. Sora's willingness to release his own heart ensured that his Heartless retained a little bit of Sora's sense of self.

Although none of these members of Organization XIII appeared in "Kingdom Hearts 2" (they appeared in "Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories"), the answer can be deduced even if you have not met them. Zexion is described in Jiminy's Journal as a man who "disliked dirtying his own hands", which gives the impression of a schemer. The word "scheme" is also mentioned in Zexion's entry in Jiminy's Journal.

Lexaeus is nicknamed "The Silent Hero", Marluxia is nicknamed "The Graceful Assassin", and Vexen is nicknamed "The Chilly Academic".

Each of Ansem's six apprentices gave themselves names that are anagrams of their original names with the letter "x" added somewhere. Braig became Xigbar, Dilan became Xaldin, Even became Vexen, Ienzo became Zexion, and Aeleus became Lexaeus. Xemnas is the exception to this - he rearranged the name "Ansem" and added an x to form his name.

Xaldin uses wind to control his lances and Saïx uses the moon to power up the attacks unleashed by his claymore. Axel uses fire in combination with his chakram and Demyx controls water with his sitar.

Axel is the only member of Organization XIII with a repeated catchphrase, which is "Got it memorized?" in "Kingdom Hearts 2". This was altered from "Commit it to memory", which was his catchphrase in "Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories".

Since Organization XIII is made up of Nobodies, they have no feelings, and this includes fear. Heartless fear the Keyblade, and Maleficent instills fear in many people, though many strong-hearted individuals are not frightened of her.
