"Overwatch" Characters - Part 1 Quiz

Lena Oxton was a fearless pilot who was testing an experimental aircraft for Overwatch. However, the experiment went poorly and she was presumed dead after the plane vanished. She reappeared months later and was constantly phasing in and out of reality, never able to remain in a physical form.

Thankfully, she was saved by Winston, one of Overwatch's top scientists. He created something known as a chronal accelerator, which not only kept her anchored in the present, but also able to control her own time and both speed it up and slow it down at will. This allows her to "blink" across the battlefield and is iconic to her fighting style.

Jack Morrison was shaped by military scientists to be the perfect solider. With his enhanced speed, strength and agility, he was a natural selection for the first batch of Overwatch agents. Eventually, he became the face of the squad when he was appointed as the first official commander of Overwatch.

However, this caused tension between him and another original member, Gabriel Reyes, and this culminated in a fight that caused a massive explosion. Both Reyes and Morrison were considered to be dead.

Now, hiding his identity from the world, he is known as Solider: 76 and he goes from place to place as a vigilante, fighting for a war that he believes will never end.

Answer: Reinhardt

Reinhardt Wilhelm is a larger than life character who styles himself as knight of the days of old. He was one of the original members of Overwatch, and he spoke very highly of the organization. After Overwatch was disbanded, Reinhardt continued to travel throughout Europe, fighting for what he believed was right and defending the innocent.

Answer: Reaper

Gabriel Reyes, the man who would become known as Reaper, was one of the original founding members of Overwatch. Reyes was originally in charge of the group, but after defeating the Omnics, Jack Morrison was chosen as the first official strike commander. This caused a rift between the two, and was eventually the cause of a rebellion lead by Reyes.

During a fight in Overwatch headquarters, there was a massive explosion that caused the world the think that both Morrison and Reyes had perished, but Reyes had survived and was horribly disfigured. Assuming the name of Reaper, he now works as a mercenary, hoping to find Morrison and finish what had begun at Overwatch headquarters.

Answer: Junkrat

Due to an explosion of an Omnium fusion core, the Australian continent was turned into a harsh, irradiated wasteland. Jamison Fawkes, also known as Junkrat, was a junker who lived out on the wasteland of Australia. He was of little importance until he found an extremely valuable secret within the bones of the Omnium.

Ever since then, he and his personal bodyguard, Roadhog, have been traveling from country to country, stealing many valuable things, robbing banks, and most impressively, causing untold millions in property damage along the way.

Answer: Mei

Over the years, the climate situation of the globe continued to deteriorate. Overwatch attempted to find the reason why, by establishing a series of eco-Watchpoints at critical locations around the globe.

Enter Mei-Ling Zhou. She is a climatologist that created cutting edge technologies that saved many at risk locations. She was soon stationed at Watchpoint: Antarctica when disaster struck. A sudden storm cut off all of the scientists from the outside world. With dwindling supplies, the scientists all decided to go into cryostasis in order to try and survive until rescue came.

It would be years until rescue would come. Mei turned out to be the only survivor. She is now continuing her work alone, attempting to find the answers as to why the climate continues to worsen.

Answer: D.Va

Hana Song is a former professional gamer. At the age of 16, she was considered to be the number one ranked player in "StarCraft", and would then go undefeated for the next three years straight.

However, not all was well at home. The MEKA (Mobile Exo-suit Korean Army) was unable to use its drone system to combat the Omnics anymore. In a desperate attempt to find suitable pilots, the Korean government realized that gamers had the reflexes and instincts necessary to pilot the mechs. So many professional gamers were conscripted to fight for MEKA, and D.Va was no exception.

Answer: Bastion

Bastion robots were originally created to be peacekeepers. However, this changed when the Omnic Crisis began, and Bastions became the main bulk of the Omnic army. At the end of the conflict, nearly all Bastions were disassembled or deactivated.

However, they missed one of the units in the Black Forest near Eichenwalde, and this unit made friends with small, yellow bird known as Ganymede. Bastion is completely peaceful now, and lives in the forest with Ganymede.

Answer: Zenyatta

Tekhartha Zenyatta was a former member of the Shambali. He disagreed with the groups approach on forming a peaceful relationship with the humans. He believes that making interpersonal connections and helping others to find their inner peace is his life's calling. It is through this that Zenyatta meets Genji, and creates a master and pupil relationship with him.

Answer: Hanzo

Hanzo Shimada showed from a young age that he had a mind for strategy and tactics. He also proved that he was prodigy within the disciplines of martial arts, swordsmanship and bowmanship. When his father passed, the elders of the clan instructed Hanzo to straighten out his wayward brother, Genji, who refused to be a part of it.

Hanzo was told to kill his brother, which he thought he had accomplished. This ,however, broke Hanzo's heart and he ultimately decided to reject his father's legacy. This caused him to be blacklisted by his clan. Now Hanzo travels the land, attempting to regain his honor and constantly honing his lethal skills.
