Answer: Crickets

It's true, she can't stand crickets, or the noise of crickets. Additionally, there's a badge that you can equip that makes your attacks sound like the noise of a cricket. This will lower Hooktail's defense by 1 if you have it equipped when you fight her.

2. What do you use to upgrade your partners?

Answer: Shine Sprites

Merlon requires three Shine Sprites total to upgrade your partners. Shine Sprites can be found in various areas throughout the game.

3. Where do you find the "Up Arrow", the item that allows you to upgrade your partners a second time?

Answer: Hooktail Castle

You can only get the Up Arrow after Bobbery joins your party, as you need him to blow up a crack in the wall in order to get to the area where it's at. The Up Arrow will be in a treasure chest in the following room.

4. What letter do you need to find at Creepy Steeple in order to spell out Doopliss's name?

Answer: P

It will be in one of the treasure chests in Creepy Steeple, and when you get the item, it will say "You got the letter "p"". Additionally, if you have Vivian make you invisible at this point, the bird in the room, will say Doopliss's name.

Answer: Take on her trouble

She has cool abilities, such as the ability to find useful stuff nearby, and she can even steal items from enemies. If you have her as your partner, and there's something really close by, she'll be unable to stand still.

He's the strongest boss in the game, he's even stronger than Shadow Queen. He's also the brother of Hooktail and Gloomtail.

He's always two steps behind Mario, although, twice in the game, he thinks he managed to collect a Crystal Star, but they turned out to be fake. The rest of the time, he finds out that Mario has already collected the Crystal Star he was after.

Answer: She was needed as the vessel for the Shadow Queen

Near the end of chapter 8, the Shadow Queen (the final boss) will arise and possess Peach, forming an evil-looking Peach with a black dress. After she does this, she'll kill Grodus for trying to give her an order. Then she'll ask you to be her slave, and you'll have to say no, and then fight her. (If you say yes, it's Game Over.)

Answer: Orange

During the fight, he'll charge between turns, and you'll sometimes even have FREE chances to attack. The free chances to attack are when you get the message saying "More chances to attack are now available".

There's no possible way to win the match that happens before he joins your party. You can only win it after he joins your party, using his Gulp attack, since you need to toss the two opponents into each other to hurt them, and that's the only way.
