Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How many zones are in the game?

Answer: 8

There are six zones with two to four levels each, Zone 7 is the large Atari logo, and Zone 8 is the original Pong game from the Atari days.
2. How many gold bars can you get per level?

Answer: 6

Within each level, there are three sub-levels. The first level gives you three gold bars, the second will give you two, and the third level gives you one.
3. How many gold bars are required to exit Zone 1?

Answer: 12

You only need to win the first sub-level of each stage to move on, as each first sub-level wins three gold bars. There are four stages in Zone 1, so 3 x 4 = 12.
4. How many gold bars is the maximum attainable?

Answer: 120

In the first six zones, there are a total of twenty stages. With each stage giving six gold bars (three for level 1, two for 2, and one for 3), 120 is the maximum.
5. Do you get gold bars in all the zones?

Answer: No

Zones 7 and 8 are not gold bar stages. You can only unlock Zone 8 when winning all the 3-bar levels. Zone 7 is matching colors on a very large Atari (TM) logo.
6. Can you win a stage with an opponent by one point?

Answer: Yes

When both players are one point from the winning score, the word "tie" shows up at the bottom of the screen in gray. In "Soccer Stars," when the score is tied 9-9, there are 3 penalty shots each. If the score is still tied, each player gets one shot until one person wins. This is the only stage that can be won by a score of 10-9.
7. Which of these is NOT a power-up?

Answer: Multi-ball

There are only two zones that have a multi-ball, and neither is a power-up. You can unlock the magnetic grab, turbo throw, and the smart bombs.
8. Can you play the original Pong?

Answer: Yes

Zone 8 has three levels. The first level is the original Pong, with levels 2 and 3 being variations of the original game.
9. In Zone 1, "Penguin Pong" has two paddles for each player.

Answer: False

In Zone 1, it is "Soccer Stars" that gives you two paddles, one for the goalie and one for offense. "Penguin Pong" will split the playing field, so that the ball may not be on your side for a short while.
10. Which of the following is the last named area?

Answer: Polar Pivot

"Henhouse Surprise" and "Polar Pivot" are the two areas in Zone 6. "Henhouse Surprise" requires 48 gold bars, and "Polar Pivot" requires 51. "Pick a Penguin" is the 3rd level within the "Polar Pivot" area, and "Egg-streme" is the 3rd level within "Henhouse Surprise."
