Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the Artisans' home, other than the normal Gnorcs, what is the other type of enemy?

Answer: Burglar Gnorc

There are two Burglar Gnorcs in the Artisans' home: one close to the water (Sunny Flight) and the other on the ground near Town Square. The rams are in the Stone Hill level and the Lightning wizards don't come until the third world, Magic Crafters. The moving bush isn't even in the first "Spyro the Dragon" game; it's in "Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!" in Fracture Hills and is often found with a beehive-holding tree.
2. Which early level contains giant Gnorcs with metal plates on their front?

Answer: Dark Hollow

Dark Hollow is the first level with the larger sized Gnorcs. Most hold clubs while to wear the aforementioned large metal plates and carry around wooden cups. Stone Hill doesn't have very many Gnorcs and same goes for Stone Hill while Toasty, a boss level, has none. The enemies you face are shepherds, sleepy dogs, and the "jack-o-lantern man" Toasty.
3. The Peace Keepers world has a desert theme. Which level in this world is the odd one out?

Answer: Ice Cavern

Although Wizard Peak is out of place from the other levels, you can't find it in Peace Keepers so the answer is Ice Cavern. Dry Canyon and Cliff Town are also in Peace Keepers but stick to the desert theme.
4. How many levels have kissing fairies that give Spyro the power to breathe fire through metal?

Answer: Two

There may be three levels with fairies that help you out (High Caves, Lofty Castle, and Haunted Towers) but the fairies in Lofty Castle don't give you special powers; they create whirlwinds for you to travel around. High Caves has one purple-dressed fairy that you can use to flame the giant, metal spiders, and in Haunted Towers, there are four purple-dressed fairies that help you flame through enchanted suits of armor and metal doors.

There's also a golden fairy that makes the flame power permanent.
5. Tree Tops, High Caves, Haunted Towers, and Lofty Castle are all fine examples, among others, of levels that really put your supercharge skills to the test. However, in one of these levels, a dragon that you rescue says, "You've become a master of the supercharge. Great work!" Which level is it?

Answer: Haunted Towers

Tree Tops may have a lot of supercharges and a lot of difficult places to get to that require supercharges but Haunted Towers is the level where your supercharge skills are put to the test, making you fly along the wall of the castle to a secret room where you meet the dragon (Copano) and face a hoard of enchanted armors and a blue wizard. The golden fairy is also in here.
6. Thieves are an important part of the game and can be easily annoying. They are found in every world except for one; which is it?

Answer: Dream Weavers

It's quite a surprise that a happy, fairy-like world that looks like it would have thieves in them doesn't have any. Magic Crafters has the majority of the egg-holding thieves and, if you catch every thief up until this world, you will have caught all the dragon eggs. Beast Makers looks the least likely to have thieves in it.

However, there are two thieves in the Tree Tops level: a red one and a green one. They're both much smarter, quicker, and hold gems rather than dragon eggs. The Artisans' home and Peace Keepers have a few eggs and Gnasty's World, surprisingly, has quite a few.

In Gnasty's Loot, there are four thieves that hold keys. In the Gnasty Gnorc boss level, two thieves help you get to him with keys.
7. Each world in "Spyro the Dragon" has a flight level where flying is enabled and you get to fly through and flame different objects to earn gems. Which two flight levels have exploding barrels on trains?

Answer: Sunny Flight and Icy Flight

Sunny Flight has barrels, arches, planes, and chests. Night Flight has rings, chests, arches, and lighthouses. Crystal Flight has rings, arches, planes, and chests. Wild Flight has boats, arches, planes, and chests. Icy Flight has lighthouses, chests, barrels, and helicopters. Gnasty's Loot has thieves, keys, and lots of gems!
8. The enemies in "Spyro the Dragon" have many ways of expressing their "affection" for Spyro. They'll throw you flowers in Tree Tops, start a "friendly" snowball fight in Ice Cavern, and even trap a nice juicy chicken for you in Misty Bog. In which level do the enemies moon Spyro if he's not looking?

Answer: Peace Keepers

These military-dressed-up Gnorcs have many back-up plans. They can hide inside flammable tents but also moon Spyro when he's not looking.
9. Which boss in "Spyro the Dragon" is the biggest?

Answer: Metalhead

Gnasty Gnorc is a big guy (and the meanest of the mean) but he can't compare to the mammoth machine that is Metalhead! All the bosses take three hits until they're down, except Metalhead; he requires only two hits even though you don't exactly hit him.
10. Which of these abilities is present in "Spyro the Dragon" but not in the other PS1 games?

Answer: Roll Ability

The hover ability was added in "Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!" to allow Spyro to glide further distances. The swim ability was also introduced in "Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!". Ice breath was not introduced until the third game, "Spyro: Year of the Dragon" and is only available in the Frozen Altars level.

The roll ability was in "Spyro the Dragon" but didn't appear again until "The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon".
