Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The 1992 Ferrari 456 GT had a 5,474 cc engine but how much horse power did it produce?

Answer: 442 hp

The 456 reached 100 kmh in just 5.2 seconds from a standing start. At first it was not a popular release as its lines were much less pronounced than popular favourites the F40 and the Testarossa.
2. The Ferrari F50 could do the 0-100 kmh dash in 4.1 seconds.

Answer: False

The F50 could reach 100 kmh in only 3.9 seconds. It had a 4,700cc engine pumping out over 500 bhp. It was a special edition Ferrari which celebrated the company's 50th birthday. It still remains one of the most desirable Ferrais in the eyes of collectors.
3. In 1957, Ferrari produced the Dino 206 SP Berlinetta. What top speed could its 1,986 cc engine reach?

Answer: 250 kmh

This car came with impressive stats for its time such as a 250 kmh top speed and a 6.2 0-100 kmh time. It still couldn't win over a sceptical public who were fueled by the poor reviews the car received, particularly from Italian car critics.
4. From which years was the Ferrari 250 GT Lusso constructed?

Answer: 1962 to 1964

The 250 GT Lusso is still one of the cars most associated with the myth of Ferrari - that of refined lines, exceptional performance and a superiority when compared to any other car on the roads. The 250 GT Lusso began production in 1962 but was only widely available from 1963.
5. The Ferrari Testarossa was a favourite among the 'Miami Vice' generation as it was built between 1985 and 1992. What was its exact engine size?

Answer: 4,942cc

The Testarossa had a V12 4,942cc engine producing over 390 bhp. It could reach a top speed of 290 kmh and reach 100 kmh in 5.8 seconds.
6. The Ferrari GTOs were missing something that most car manufacturers today regard as absolute standard. What were the GTOs missing?

Answer: Speedometer

None of the GTOs were equipped with factory fitted Speedometers but many owners had them fitted later on. A rear puncture was also a big problem as only a front spare came with the car.
7. The Ferrari F355 Spider proved to be one of the most popular Ferraris, certainly of the 90s. But which year did it begin construction?

Answer: 1995

The Spider hit 100 kmh in just 4.7 seconds. It was not as fast as some of its predecessors but it was more comfortable and had more appeal to non Ferrari enthusiasts as a non race bred sports car.
8. In the world of Motor Racing, Ferrari has never been far from the top of the field. Its 1952 500 F2 Monoposto had a top speed of 240 kmh but how long did it take to do the 0 - 100 kmh run?

Answer: 6.9 seconds

The Monoposto had a four cylinder engine arranged in line. The majority of Ferraris have their cylinders arranged at either 60 or 90 degrees.
9. Ferrari's famed tifosi regard their spiritual home as the race track at Monza, Italy. Some of Ferrari's most famous victories have come here but the tragic Italian GP of 1961 was the last time a very special part of the track was to be used. What part was that?

Answer: The Banked Curves

The 1961 GP saw a crash between Jim Clark and Wolfgang Von Trips which killed Von Trips as he stood on the brink of the World Championship.
10. In what year did Ferrari win their first F1 World Chamionship?

Answer: 1952

Alberto Ascari won Ferrari's first world title which proved to be the first of a trilogy of wins in the 50's with Juan Manuel Fangio winning in 1956 and Mike Hawthorn in 1958. Thanks for taking this quiz - Hope you enjoyed it.
