Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the most significant change for the 1988 Lincoln Continental?

Answer: Front Wheel Drive

The 1988 Continental was the first Front Wheel Drive Lincoln, and is known as being a very unreliable car. One of Ford's worst flops since the Edsel.
2. What model was discontinued in the Grand Marquis model line after the 1991 model year?

Answer: Colony Park

The Colony Park was discontinued when the "new aerodynamic" 1992 Grand Marquis was introduced. SUV's were starting to overtake the poor-selling full-size station wagon market.
3. There were several innovative features on the 1996 Mercury Sable. One of these was the radio location. There was a faceplate attached to the instrument panel, but where were the rest of it located?

Answer: Inside the Trunk

The radio mechanism being in the trunk was an interesting anti-theft feature.

The Tracer was assembled in Mexico, and shared many parts with the Mazda 323.

7. The 1989 Cougar was an all new model. The 1989 Cougar XR-7 was even more exciting, with a standard 3.8 Litre Supercharged V6 engine. What was the significant change for the 1991 Cougar XR-7?

Answer: 5.0 HO V8 made Standard

1991 Cougar received a new front and rear facia. The 5-Speed Transmission was discontinued, and on the XR-7 the 5.0 HO V8 was made standard. The Thunderbird SC retained the Supercharged V6 and the availability of a manual or automatic transmission.
8. The 1988 Topaz was available with an drivers-side airbag (SRS). What additional option/feature was required with the airbag option?
