Johnston Hall is home to the College of Communications, and possibly these two ghosts. The building was built on the site of an Indian settlement predating the city of Milwaukee, giving credibility to the story of a Native American male haunting the lower levels of the building. Johnston Hall was originally built to serve as a home for the Jesuits who taught at Marquette College, and rumor has it that a Jesuit priest hung himself in his room on the fifth floor while he lived there.

Although it is now the trend for new Marquette structures to feature variations of the Marquette Hall spire, it hasn't always been so. AMDG stands for "Ad Majoram Dei Gloriam," or "To the greater glory of God", which is the Jesuit motto. Though it is featured on all Marquette constructed buildings, it may be obstructed by bushes or additions, as is the case for Memorial Library.
