Answer: Eisenhower

Because Eisenhower didn't exactly say what party he liked, both tried to court him. But then Eisenhower decided to go with the Republican party, which left the Democratic party scrambling to find another nominee (Adlai Stevenson).

Eisenhower didn't really like Nixon, that's why it took him so long to say that he supported Nixon's campaign in 1960.

Answer: Massachusetts

Rumour has it Ted Kennedy had been pressured to run for President. So he decided to go for it in against Carter who was President at the time (because the President is usually given the nomination).
