John's brother Will eventually took over the business. Charles Post was actually once a patient at Kellogg's sanitarium.

During a stint in the Army during WWI, Schick was inspired by the repeating rifle to invent the magazine repeating razor. After a court fight over patent rights, after which the judge was convicted of accepting bribes, Schick sold his company, which was eventually bought by Eversharp, Inc.
