Having grown up on the Gower I have to agree, the beaches, the scenery, the friendly people. Reply #2. Jul 10 09, 6:28 AM |

Dificult, we have so many naturally beautiful places. The Dales, the Peaks, the Cotswolds and the coastal counties. If I had to pick one though, it would have to be Pembrokeshire. Reply #3. Jul 12 09, 12:04 AM |

As a Yorkshire lass, I have to say that my favourite place has to be the Yorkshire Dales, in North Yorkshire. I know them very well and they are breathtaking, and tiring when you've just finished the Three Peaks lol. My second has to be the Lake District. Reply #4. Jul 12 09, 12:30 AM |

Herefordshire and Shropshire of course with Northumberland being thrown in for good measure - all underpopulated and a joy. Reply #5. Jul 12 09, 2:43 AM |

Haven't seen either of them for over 50 years, but Montgomeryshire in Wales and Herefordshire in England top my list. Reply #6. Jul 12 09, 11:01 PM |

North Yorkshire :-D The moors are so beautiful, even in winter when they are bleak and forbidding, they have a majesty to them that defies logical description and just *is*. I live a few minutes drive from the moors, can see the hills from my window, and would hate to live anywhere else. Reply #7. Aug 02 09, 5:10 PM |

Somerset for me of course. Cheddar cheese and scrumpy, joys of my youth. My family were originally from Yorkshire though and I have spent quite a lot of time there and it is beautiful. What I miss most about England though are trees! Here on the west coast of Ireland there are very few that can survive the gales. However the view of the Atlantic from my house does compensate a bit. I think maybe Suffolk. I lived there from 9-18 and then went back to see a friend a couple of years ago after a break of 25 years. Still phenomenally beautiful along the coast, and the pubs are great! Reply #13. Sep 11 09, 8:10 PM |

Good to see some posts flying the flag for North Yorkshire. I would say that is my favourite county especially between York and Malton on the wolds near Kirkham abbey that has got to be some of the most amazing scenary in England i love seeing it going passed on the train or by car from the A64 or even better by bicycle. Even though I live in Somerset next to the beautiful Devon, I would have to agree with romeomikegolf and say Pembrokeshire. Reply #20. Feb 02 12, 7:47 PM |
