Texas Hold'em poker (not with real money though!). I used to play tarot and gin-rummy, but I haven't done it in years.

I used to play Euchre, but now I can't find three other people to play with. My favorite game is Cribbage, and I've got a partner for that.

I used to play Rummy, but my partner was so good that the game would always be over in a few minutes, so it wasn't much fun to play.

I used to play Texas Hold'em on a bar circuit, tournament style. It was a lot of fun.

I adore Spades. I grew up playing lots of Texas Hold ‘Em too. I enjoy BS and used to love Speed. My grandma taught me how to play one called “Hand and Foot,” which I loved, but haven’t played in so long. But my favorite is good old Poker.

I like poker. Hearts is really fun, but it's been ages since I've actually played, same with euchre.

Cribbage is the only card game I enjoy. Especially when I beat my husband.

I have a solitaire game on the computer with 100 different versions of solitaire. One of my favorites is called Windmill. This year, after years and years of playing (it keeps statistics) and scoring in the 33% win range, I suddenly jumped to winning 64% of the games. I don't even know what I am doing differently.

Various forms of card games for one when I am bored or stressed but not often. We call them "patience" but I understand they are often called "solitaire". I played all the usual games in the past. 3 games I loved the most were:
1) Clock Patience - where the cards are arranged in the form and shape of clock numbers with 4 cards in each space where the clock numbers should be and 4 cards in the middle of the clock face. Start by turning card up anywhere on the clock. If it's a 2 (for instance) place it on the outer side of the 2 position on the clock and turn up a card from the 2 pile. Continue like that. Each time a King is turned up there is nowhere to put it, so it's placed in the middle of the clock and a card taken from there. The idea is to get all the cards on the clock numbers turned over but this is very difficult because if 4 kings turn up before the clock cards are all revealed, the game is over.
2) A form of patience played by 2 people sitting opposite each other who play against each other at speed but I can't describe it now as I've forgotten how it's set up and how it goes.(Sorry). I mention it because it was great fun. Maybe someone else knows this game and can describe it.

3) A betting game called "Newmarket" but we used only pennies. You take 4 cards from a second pack. A Jack, Queen, King and Ace. They must all be from different suits. They are placed face upwards around a central "well" . Then all the players bet a penny on a card(placing it on the card) and also bet a penny in the "pot" (placing their penny in the well). Cards are dealt out as if an extra person was playing. The extra hand is set aside and not used, unless someone want to "buy" it for a penny but this can only happen once. The cards are played alternately from lowest black, then lowest red, etc. If the line stops, the person with the next lowest black starts it again. When the identified Jack, Queen, King or Ace are played the player playing those cards claims the pennies on them and the first person to play all their cards wins the pennies in the pot. Sometimes pennies on the picture cards are left unclaimed and remain in place to add to the bets from the next round.

P.S Anyone "buying" the hand in game 3) above must swap it with their own hand so that is unplayed. There must always be one unplayed hand.

Re game 2) I thing I'm'm remembering a bit more of this (though I may not have it 100% yet). As in normal patience, the cards are set out, (though I can't recall whether they use 7 piles or fewer). The remaining cards are divided into two face down piles at either end of the face up ones. 2 players sit next to the piles, opposite each other. On the word go they turn up cards from the end piles and play it on the face up pile if they can at speed. The only thing holding them back is if they can't play a card. They have to wait until they can. The winner is the person who gets rid of all their cards first. That makes me think there are no face down cards except at the end piles and that each player must "own" one of the end piles, but I'm a bit vague on this. Can't see how it would work otherwise.

P.P.S in game 3, bets must be placed on the "horse" cards before the pack cards are dealt out.

P.P.P.S. The key thing about game 2) is that you play when you can as fast as you can. You don't have to "take turns".
