Fancy! I've never owned a dishwasher. Although, I expect to move within the coming year, and there probably will be one in my new place. You can teach me how to use it... in return for the pleasure of my company :-D Reply #5990. Dec 25 17, 8:04 PM |

I definitely miss sailing around on the ol' Atlantic, and I guess the Irish in me really comes out when it comes to potatoes. Well, that and beer and whiskey and fighting. Of course, I don't exactly do much of the latter these days since I'm too old for that kind of rowdy fun and can't even stand on my own two feet to oblige anyone anyway. Yep, that part of the good ol' days is pretty much over for me now. Good thing we are all just clowning around and having fun here because if I ever really did go to England I probably wouldn't want to come back! I would probably have to be dragged back kicking and screaming, and I'm not sure if there is enough of you for that little job. I would probably escape somehow and wind up being a street urchin over there! :-p Reply #5995. Dec 26 17, 1:42 PM |

Don't even really know what dishwasher is As for traveling, I'm afraid were we really doing this I'd just slow you down :-( I don't travel well anymore... though my dreamer side still says "what are you talking about." Nerve damage is no joke :-( particularly when doctors can't eventell you what caused the problem in the first place. Afraid I (like my dear mother) get motion sick (yea, it's possible... so what if I can't see good? I tell light fromn dark. Perhaps that's all that's needed). Would love to explore that part of the world, though (I content myself wih the Internet... and books). I'm not the greatest conversationalist in person at times either, but online I try to be:-) Reply #5996. Dec 26 17, 2:14 PM |

The strangest thing about that seasickness and my experience with it. The very first time I went out to sea on my first ship I got just sicker than a dog and we really weren't moving around very much at all. After that, I never even came close to being sick again, even when the ship was rolling 45 degrees from side to side, that was like a fun little carnival ride for me. Very strange how it worked out that way. Reply #5997. Dec 26 17, 2:36 PM |

Yeah, never flown, and the thought just terrifies me. I was paddleboating, kayaking and whatever else when I was younger (camp activities), and I absolutely hated it *that was years before I broke my leg, vut I'm sure I already had nerve damage* (people just assumed I was either clumsy or falling on purpose back then) Reply #5999. Lesley, I'll still be in the NYC area. Once a New Yorker, always a New Yorker:-D I'm looking at '55 plus' (for those of a certain age) communities. The main attraction being the outdoor upkeep. No more looking for people to shovel snow, or to mow the lawn. The main problem is downsizing. I currently have a great deal of space, that is taken up by 'stuff'. This includes things from my husband who died 16 years ago, and things from my two adult children, who live with room mates in flats with not a lot of space. A place with it's own storage... a garage would be great... and all on one level... stairs are an issue. We'll see what I can find. *************** If we can't fly, and can't go by ship (whatever its name), we'll need to get someone to build a bridge. It's a pretty wide 'pond', so it may take a while.
