Subject: The Official Share a Story Thread

Posted by: Terry
Date: Aug 24 12

If you are directed here by a FunTrivia challenge, please reply ONLY in this thread for the challenge. Only posts made here will count towards your challenge!

[ And no, you will be DIRECTED to come here. Posting here without having an already issued challenge will not result in anything! Still, you can post a story if you feel like it anyway ;) ]

If sent here, the title says it all. Your challenge is to share a story.

Tell us, briefly, about something funny or interesting that has happened to you recently. Or something sad. Or something scary. Or something exciting. Something funny or strange you saw?

If nothing funny or interesting or scary or exciting has happened, then write us a poem. Or a song. Or tell us a joke.

Or just tell us what you did today. Did all you accomplish was to brush your teeth? Did you fail to even do that? Do share...

Feeling grumpy today? Tell us what irritates you. What TV show can't you stand? What TV show are you watching that you like?

So go ahead, we're listening. The only rules are that you be polite and follow our very simple rules up above.

Tell us a story...

One person who makes a huge difference in my life is my next-door neighbour and walking partner.

Most mornings, we set out from home around 8.30am and walk one of several routes from here. There always seems to be something interesting to talk about. Yesterday I found it staggering that we walked fairly quickly for about 30 minutes and that the time had passed without my realising.

I went for a walk today. It was 10 degrees Celsius which is nice for this time of year. Nearly all the snow is gone.

I watched the solar eclipse yesterday through special glasses. We only had 55% coverage here in Florida, but it was still awesome!

In Northwest Florida, I got my husband to watch the solar eclipse for his first time. He is 61 years old! He thought it was really cool.

I watched the eclipse with a complete stranger who tried to go into a liquor store but it was closed because the clerk was outside watching the sky. So he stood with me. It was special, just coming together to watch this thing, and I'll likely never see him again.

We're halfway through autumn here in Australia. I live on the central coast of Western Australia and we're still waiting for things to cool down just a bit. The temp's still around the 36c mark (96f).

Just finished knitting a Manchester City scarf for my 9 year old grandson. He says he requires a hat to match ( please ). Got the tape measure..... can't believe how big his head is! Must be the man of the match award he got this week in his junior league game. He's their goalie; didn't let any in and organized the defence lineup, much to the amusement of their manager who says he can retire now.

Got my fifth challenge to post here. All the others took a long time taking lots of quizzes for each one, so glad this one came along.

Had a Dr's appointment on Monday. Had to stay an extra 30 minutes because when I finished a total eclipse was just starting and I didn't have the right glasses to go outside. Would have gone blind if I went out.

Had 90% totality for the eclipse in New Jersey, an interesting get together with virtual strangers in a baseball field to watch it.
