Fertilize the lawn, weed kill the lawn, watch it grow lush and green, mow the lawn, mow the lawn, mow the lawn. Such a vicious circle I create for myself. Reply #36003. Apr 29 24, 10:06 PM |

I am the world's worst golfer. Today I lost 5 balls on the first hole, two of them were in the ball washer. Before I took lessons I had a terrible slice. As I drove the ball took a right turn, right into the middle of the lake. After my lessons, my drive is now dead straight, right into the middle of the lake. I am so bad I had to have the grip replaced on my water retriever. I always use new golf balls, never had an old one. A while back my wife and I were playing. A gent asked me what my handicap was. I pointed at my wife and said, "her". Reply #36004. Apr 30 24, 12:38 AM |

Rumpo, we should have a round some day. I once managed to lose two golf balls while practicing my driving in the nets. The nets were there to protect a nearby trainline from errant shots. My first attempt, I hit the ground first, sent the ball almost directly upwards, over the net and over the trainline, narrowly missing an oncoming train. The second lost ball I simply have no idea how or where it went. Reply #36007. Apr 30 24, 1:51 AM |

I bought a clever t-shirt the other day. It says, "I had a spinal fusion. Now I'm all screwed up". Reply #36008. Apr 30 24, 2:24 AM |

We've become addicted to Britbox English and European mysteries. I found a book at the library called "Your Guide to Not Getting Murdered in a Quaint English Village." It's spot-on! Reply #36009. Apr 30 24, 6:25 AM |

Mandy2, we have places here that are called "Thankful Villages" - there are about fifty of them (out of the tens of thousands of English villages (and I do mean English, the others haven't done a count)); they are places where no one from that village was killed as a result of World War I. There are even twelve or thirteen which are "Doubly Thankful" - they didn't lose anyone in WWII either. And then we have the places which should be known as "Perilous Villages" - in other words, if you set foot in them you're going to get murdered behind the shrubbery in broad daylight and everything about you will be investigated by Miss Marple, Inspector Linley, or DCI Barnaby. You may be a "good guy" but trust me, nothing good ever comes out of those shrubs. Not even before tea-time. Reply #36011. Apr 30 24, 10:56 AM |

Mmm, plums! Sounds so good, Sarah. That takes me back to Sunday dinners at my grandparents' house. We kids loved getting plums from their tree afterwards. :) Reply #36016. Apr 30 24, 7:10 PM |
