Daydream Believer by The Monkees Two-word title, two-word band: check #1 song: check American band: check Released in late sixties: check Sounds like creatures: check Contains the word “happy”: oof… thought I had it. This all applies to “Sugar, Sugar” by The Archies, except the band name and of course “happy.” Not Chicago… couldn’t find a matching song for the Four Tops… The Animals got me excited, but nothing there… The Yardbirds… The Eagles are too late… The Byrds… thought I had it with “Happy Together” by The Turtles, alas, it’s not in the title… I want you to know that I am trying… It’s going to be some obvious song and I’ll feel silly.
