Twist and Shout by The Beatles? Reply #7081. Nov 20 18, 3:33 PM |

Bingo! That was the one I was thinking about. I knew it was a cover of somebody else's. Turns out the Isley Brothers also did a cover of this, even before the Beatles. It was written for neither of them... Reply #7082. Nov 20 18, 4:28 PM |

I didn't know that! Thanks for the trivia. Next song is a four-word title from the mid-70's, two-word band name. This band featured multiple singers, and the title is a demand of sorts. Reply #7083. Nov 21 18, 9:19 AM |

This song is about the singer's decision to start a solo career after being a member of a successful band. Reply #7090. Nov 25 18, 2:32 AM |

Is the artist Eric Clapton? Michael Jackson? Phil Collins? Reply #7093. Nov 28 18, 11:58 AM |

Phil Collins gets really close, but isn't it. Eric Clapton is five yeas older than the singer you are looking. And the target is British, so no to Michael Jackson. This singer once used a mask on stage, allegedly to make it to the cover of the Rolling Stone. Reply #7094. Nov 29 18, 7:57 AM |

Yes, he is still alive. In the song he sings about climbing a hill, city lights, an eagle, and the sound of his heart. Reply #7096. Nov 29 18, 4:47 PM |

Gah! I have too many suggestions that don’t fit the criteria! I thought when I saw “city lights” (Steve Perry from Journey, but he’s not British, same with Steve Miller ((“Fly Like an Eagle”)), then “Rhythm of My Heart” by Rod Stewart, no one is British, haha) but alas, I came up empty-handed. Thank you for these clues. Is this an older song, I presume, with the singer being older than Eric Clapton? I might be focusing too much on one clue. Reply #7097. Nov 30 18, 11:41 AM |

The singer is five years younger than Eric Clapton and doesn't play the guitar. Reply #7098. Nov 30 18, 4:48 PM |

This is embarrassing. I've been thinking that the song in question is from a band and not just a solo artist (like you stated). I'm sure the answer is so obvious in your mind, and that I'm just making a fool of myself, but I'm still going to try. Was the song considered a hit? Reply #7100. Dec 03 18, 2:14 PM |
