The Sentinels, Thank you for this opportunity. This sounds very promising, and I look forward to putting my best foot forward to participate in this challenge. It will be fun to see who comes out with what in the end. It is always nice to play a scavenger hunt, but now playing a set of scavengers that bear a mark of someone's perspective will be a very pleasing experience. Have a nice weekend everyone! I may be being thick-headed, but I was wondering: I haven't written any quizzes. Am I still allowed to create a quiz list since I'm a Gold Member? It looks like it, but I'm not sure. Thanks for any help! Reply #4. Sep 09 23, 2:27 PM |

Yes, you can create lists. You don't have to have a quiz written to make them. Reply #5. Sep 10 23, 2:48 AM |

I'll have a go at British History from 1400 until 1999 Reply #6. Sep 10 23, 6:07 AM |

That's seven different sub-categories of history - but do you class that as the one overall category? Or can only 6 quizzes be on British History - and the rest of the quizzes on another category altogether? I'm a little uncertain as to how you mean it to be broken down. Could perhaps, if you have time (ho, ho, ho) give a rough example of what is meant? Reply #7. Sep 10 23, 6:16 AM |

I would think "category" would refer to one of the 20 categories on FunTrivia. That's what I think of when I see the word "category". I thought Wesley was meaning that a quiz list can have no more than six from the same FunTrivia category. It would probably be difficult to have a theme for the quiz list if "category" meant something like British history? Reply #8. Sep 10 23, 8:12 AM |

Stupid question but where do I find the ID of the quiz list once it is created. At the moment the list I am in the process of is showing as hidden / Offline (which I think is what you want) thanks Reply #9. Sep 10 23, 9:22 AM |

@Luckycharm60: Have a look at the bottom of the page where you can delete the list. The number it instructs you to put after "delete" is the ID. It should be in the 2500s or so right now. @Creedy: It's 6 per root category. Scavengers want to have a theme across multiple categories. So you could probably focus on British history, but you'd have to make it variable: Apart from History itself, you could use World (buildings from the period), People, Literature, Movies, maybe one or two in Music, etc. Probably best to start with the non-History ones and at the end, use History to fill in events you could not touch otherwise. @Luckycharm60, so yes, I also think that we need to have our quiz list hidden/unpublished for this challenge. We can see that quiz list, and it gives an option to "edit". So, please click that "edit" link. Now, while you are editing your quiz list, please look at the very bottom part of your screen - it tells you how you can delete your quiz list. Over there they mention the quiz list ID because we need to input our quiz list ID to delete our hidden/unpublished quiz list. This is what I noticed while I was working on my quiz list just a few days back. However, it is my first quiz list ever after being active on this site for over 13 years, so please forgive me if I am mistaken or something. Good day! :) Reply #11. Sep 10 23, 9:45 AM |

@LuckyCharm60 Thanks for saying that the quiz list should be hidden/offline. That only makes sense! Reply #12. Sep 10 23, 11:40 AM |

I have a plan for an Australian-themed list, but am not sure that I know (a) if it has already been used; (b) if so, what quizzes have been used. I am going to start work soon, collecting a long list of candidates, which I will then be able to cull as necessary if I know how these restrictions impact my selection. Reply #15. Is there a specification on the number of questions in the quiz? Reply #16. Sep 10 23, 4:56 PM |

Okay a really dumb question here. Are we supposed to play all the quizzes now while we are choosing them and then do the list itself (and improve cause I'm looking at some subjects I know nothing about but look well written and fit my theme) if they get chosen? I haven't played and looked at all the interesting info yet. I've just been looking at what I think are well written quizzes that are as varied as possible Reply #17. Sep 10 23, 5:16 PM |

It's not really required that you play everything. However - if you'd struggle with most of the quizzes on your list, you're probably either too difficult or too specialized in your choices unless you know you know much less in the category that most (like if I wanted to compile an actors-focused list I would probably do less well on it than the majority). After all, scavengers should be enjoyable and solvable for the majority of players. If you can't solve it yourself, be sure most others can! Reply #18. Sep 11 23, 12:23 AM |

I'm going to give British History a miss - it's too broad an area. Will do it on the concept of Love instead. That can be covered by quizzes in Literature (plays, novels, poetry etc), Music, Movies, Musicals, People, Celebrities. What do you think? Reply #19. Sep 11 23, 2:52 AM |

I'd check out the scavenger hunts that are already there and find a gap. btw there already is one called Love, Trivially. Reply #20. Sep 11 23, 3:44 AM |
