Answer: San Francisco Giants

The franchise began in 1883 in the National League as the New York Gothams. The Gothams kept the name until the end of the 1884 season, then changed their name to the New York Giants. In 1957, the team moved to San Francisco, and took on the city's name.
2. The Perfectos once carried the name of which franchise?

For nine seasons beginning in 1882, the St. Louis Brown Stockings began in the American Association. They changed their name to the Browns in 1883, then jumped to the National League in 1892. The Perfecto name took hold in 1899, then was changed to the Cardinals in 1900.
3. The Athletics franchise never played in which of the following cities?

With the new American League in 1901, Connie Mack brought his Athletics to Philadelphia, and continued to manage them for 50 seasons. In 1955, the team moved to Kansas City and kept the Athletics' name. The team moved again after the 1967 season (where Reggie Jackson was a rookie) to Oakland.
4. From 1899-1910, the Superbas later became which team?

Answer: Dodgers

The franchise, when they took on the Los Angeles Dodger name in 1958, was their 10th name change in their franchise history. They began as the Brooklyn Atlantics of the American Association in 1884. From the Atlantics, other names included Grays, Grooms, Bridegrooms, Robins, Superbas, and some names repeated.
5. Which of the following 2006 teams was once known as the Orioles?

6. Which team began their franchise as the Blues?

Answer: Cleveland Indians

One of eight new entries to the American League in 1901, the Blues were around for only two seasons before the name changed to the Naps in 1903.
