Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This Oscar-winning actor has been spoofed on "Saturday Night Live" several times and was named as the Sexiest Man of the (20th) Century by "People" magazine. He has been in many films but is probably best known for playing James Bond seven times. Who is he?

Answer: Sean Connery

Sean Connery played James Bond for the first five Bond films (of the 'official' Bond franchise; there were a couple of earlier adaptations) starting with 1962's "Dr. No". After the initial five films, he reprised the role in "Diamonds Are Forever" (1971), and in "Never Say Never Again" (1983), which is not considered part of the official series.

Connery won his Academy Award (for Best Supporting Actor) for the 1987 movie "The Untouchables", which starred Kevin Costner as Eliot Ness and Robert de Niro as Al Capone. Connery played Ness' ally Jimmy Malone.

The character of Sean Connery is included in several "SNL" "Celebrity Jeopardy" skits, in which Connery was played by comedian Darrell Hammond.
2. This actor's most well-known role was as Boromir in "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" (2001). He also starred in the first season of the HBO series "Game of Thrones". Who is he?

Answer: Sean Bean

Sean Bean's character Boromir also appeared briefly in the other two films of "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, mostly in flashbacks. He and seven of the other actors who played the original nine members of the Fellowship have identical tattoos of the number nine in Tengwar script (the eighth actor had his stunt double get the tattoo).

In addition to "The Lord of the Rings", Bean has appeared in many other films, such as "GoldenEye" (1995), "National Treasure" (2004), "Troy" (2004), and played Zeus in "Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" (2010). He starred as Lord Eddard Stark in "Game of Thrones". His other TV credits include the UK series "Accused" and "Sharpe".
3. Our next actor is known for playing in silly or raunchy comedies, such as "Dude, Where's My Car?" (2000) and "Role Models" (2008). His best known role, though, is as the sometimes-antagonist in the "American Pie" franchise of films. Who could this be?

Answer: Seann William Scott

"American Pie" (1999) was Seann William Scott's first film success. He played Steve Stifler, a high school jock who liked to swear, make fun of his fellow classmates, and score with a lot of girls. Scott returned to play the role in "American Pie 2" (2001), "American Wedding" (2003) and "American Reunion" (2012).

Scott's other film credits include "Final Destination" (2000), "Road Trip" (2000), "The Dukes of Hazzard" (2005) and "Cop Out" (2010).
4. This Sean has won many awards for acting, including two Best Actor Oscars. He's also been nominated for awards for his directorial efforts, including for the 2007 film "Into the Wild". He was once married to a very famous singer. Which Sean is it?

Answer: Sean Penn

Sean Penn's first Oscar win was for "Mystic River" (2003) and the second for "Milk" (2008). He was also nominated for Oscars for "Dead Man Walking" (1995), "Sweet and Lowdown" (1999) and "I Am Sam" (2001). These are just a few of his many film roles, awards nominations and wins. My personal favourite of his movie roles was the stoner/surfer Jeff Spicoli in 1982's "Fast Times at Ridgemont High", Penn's second-ever film credit.

Penn was married to singer and actress Madonna from 1985-1989, and to actress Robin Wright from 1996-2010.
5. This actor appeared in his first film at age 13, in the well-loved movie "The Goonies" (1985). He also starred in the classic underdog story "Rudy" and really came to fame when he starred in "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy (2001-2003). Which one is it?

Answer: Sean Astin

Sean Astin was born Sean Duke; his mother is actress Patty Duke. The name Astin was his stepfather's, John Astin, who was married to Patty Duke from 1972 to 1985, and adopted Sean.

Astin played Mikey in "The Goonies", part of a group of kids who wanted to save their homes from being demolished and went on a hunt for the treasure of the pirate One-Eyed Willy. In "Rudy", he played the title character, who desperately wanted to play football for Notre Dame. In "The Lord of the Rings", Astin starred as Samwise Gamgee.

In addition to these movies, Astin has played in "Memphis Belle" (1990), "Encino Man" (1992), "50 First Dates" (2004) and "Click" (2006). He also had a recurring role in the hit TV series "24".
6. The next Sean is a female Sean. She appeared in films such as "Stripes" (1981), "Blade Runner" (1982), "Wall Street" (1987) and "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" (1994). Which Sean is this?

Answer: Sean Young

She was born Mary Sean Young. She played the female lead in "Blade Runner", but other than that, has had mostly small roles. Her role in "Wall Street" as Mrs. Gekko was supposed to be larger than it was, but was reduced, reportedly because of personality clashes with the film's director. She was originally cast in a leading role in 1989's "Batman" but broke her arm and was replaced with Kim Basinger.

More recently, Young has appeared in a recurring role on "The Young and the Restless". She was also in the first season (2010) of "Skating with the Stars", but was the first eliminated. Her 2011 stint in rehab was also shown on the TV show "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew".
7. This actor is primarily remembered for his flamboyant role in a sitcom, in which he starred with Eric McCormack, Debra Messing and Megan Mullally. He has also been in several movies, including "The Cat in the Hat" (2003), and "The Bucket List" (2007), and has voiced characters in "Cats & Dogs" (2001) and "Monsters University" (2013). Which Sean is it?

Answer: Sean Hayes

Sometimes credited as Sean Patrick Hayes or Sean P. Hayes, he is best known for his role as Jack McFarland on "Will and Grace". He landed the role after NBC executives saw him in his first film role in "Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss".

In addition to "Will and Grace" and the movies listed, Hayes has also appeared in many other TV shows, including "Scrubs", "Up All Night", "Hot in Cleveland" and "Smash". He also made his first Broadway appearance in 2010 in "Promises, Promises" with Kristin Chenoweth.
8. In movies, the next Sean is best known for playing Ronald in "Cruel Intentions" (1999) and starring with Julia Stiles in "Save the Last Dance" (2001). On TV, he starred in "The District" from 2000-2004. Who is he?

Answer: Sean Patrick Thomas

Though not a huge movie star name, Sean Patrick Thomas is classically trained; he graduated from the Tisch School of Arts' Graduate Acting Program at NYU. His first few roles were small, in "Conspiracy Theory" (1997) and "Can't Hardly Wait" (1998). He played a bigger role in "Cruel Intentions" but his biggest role was as Derek in "Save the Last Dance". He was Julia Stiles' character's love interest; the interracial relationship was a key theme of the movie.

In addition to "The District", Thomas' other TV credits include "Lie to Me", "Ringer" and "American Horror Story: Asylum".
9. This Australian actor is remembered for appearing in Disney feature films as a teen in the 1960s, including "Almost Angels". Who is he?

Answer: Sean Scully

Sean Scully is the son of Australian actress Margaret Christensen. He was married to actress Wendy Hughes. Scully's first movie was "Hunted in Holland" (1960), when he was 12 years old. He then starred in the two lead roles in Disney's "The Prince and the Pauper" (1961) and "Almost Angels" (1962).

Scully has also appeared in many TV roles, primarily in Australian series. He has had recurring roles in "Sons and Daughters", "Neighbours", "Homicide", "Matlock Police", "Caged Women" and "A Country Practice".
10. Though primarily known for a music career, this Sean has also been in several movies. The first was "Made" in 2001 with Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn, followed by "Monster's Ball" (also 2001) alongside Halle Berry, and "Get Him to the Greek" in (2010) with Jonah Hill and Russell Brand. Who is he?

Answer: Sean Combs

Sean Combs is also known as Puff Daddy, P. Diddy and Diddy. Though initially and perhaps better known for his rap career, he's actually had quite a varied career. In addition to his music and movies, Combs has designed clothing, including a jersey for the Dallas Mavericks and the Sean John clothing line, has owned restaurants, and contributed a lot to the relief efforts following Hurricane Katrina. He's also run the New York City marathon and was known for his former high-profile relationship with Jennifer Lopez.

In addition to the movies listed, he also appeared in the 2005 movie "Carlito's Way: Rise to Power" and had a recurring role in the remade TV series "Hawaii Five-O".
