Answer: Visalia

Visalia has been the county seat of Tulare County since 1853. The city is renowned for its oak trees. The Sequoia National Park lies a few miles to the east of the city.
2. Which one of these Florida cities is located on the Treasure Coast and is the county seat of Indian River County?

Answer: Vero Beach

Vero Beach was incorporated in 1925, and has an economy heavily dependent on tourism. The Indian River Lagoon divides the city into the mainland and Orchid Island.

Answer: Valdosta

Valdosta, Georgia was incorporated in 1860. Troupville had been a riverboat port, but the building of a railroad four miles away led to this town's demise, and the creation of Valdosta. The city holds an Azalea Festival each spring.

Vicksburg, Mississippi was incorporated in 1826, and named after Newitt Vick. From May 18th to July 4th, 1863, the Confederate army was besieged there by Union troops. The eventual surrender of the Confederates was regarded by many historians as the main turning point in the US Civil War.

Ventura, California grew out of the Mission San Buenaventura, founded in 1782. Located on the Pacific Coast, a few miles northwest of Los Angeles, the city is a departure point for visitors to the nearby Channel Islands, which were established as a National Park in 1980.

Just like its more famous namesake in Canada, Vancouver, Washington was named after Captain George Vancouver. In the early 21st century, a large percentage of Vancouver residents worked in Portland, Oregon on the other side of the Columbia River.
