1. A battle took place here on June 10, 1864, between the CSA troops under Gen. Forrest and the Union troops under Gen. Sturgis.

Answer: Brice's Cross Roads

Brice's Cross Roads is located in Mississippi. Gen. Sturgis left Memphis with about 7,800 troops. The CSA troops were waiting for Gen. Forrest's main body of troops to arrive. His plan was to defeat the Union cavalry before the infantry could reinforce them. Gen. Forrest attacked both wings of the Union line forcing the Union troops to withdraw.
2. There is a statue of Gen. G. K. Warren in this park.

Answer: Gettysburg

When Gen. Warren observed the troops of Gen. Sickels repositioning themselves, leaving the entire Union left flank exposed he took it upon himself to reinforce Little Round Top.
3. This park has a memorial to CSA Sgt. Richard Kirkland.

Answer: Fredericksburg

Sgt. Kirkland was from South Carolina. Unable to stand the cries of the Union wounded laying before the stonewall, he lept over the wall to give water to the Union wounded while under fire. He became known as the "Angel of Marye's Heights".

The bridge was named for Gen. Ambrose Burnside. He insisted on sending his regiments across the stone bridge into fire from the CSA troops on the other side on Antietam Creek. The creek could have been easily forded nearby. The water was only waist deep.

This is the site of the battle for control of middle Tennessee. The union troops were commanded by Gen. Rosecrans, the CSA troops by Gen. Bragg.

Shiloh was the first major battle in the west. The battle took place in April, 1862. The Union forces suffered about 13,000 casualties, and the CSA about 11,000.

Wilmer McLean had a home in Manassas, Va. at the start of the war. After the battle of 1st Manassas he moved his family to Appomattox, Va. to be away from the war. Little did he know that on April 9, 1865 his home would be the meeting place of Gen. Lee and Gen. Grant to discuss terms of surrender.

Answer: Fort Pulaski

It protected the city of Savannah, Ga.. It is surrounded by a moat 7 feet deep and 35 feet wide. It was attacked by Union cannon fire in April 1862. Though 5,275 shots were fired by Union guns only one CSA soldier was killed but 350 we forced to surrender. The Fort Pulaski National Monument was established in 1924.

This is where Gen. Jackson formed his line during the battle of 1st Manassas. Gen. Bee it is reported to have said " There stands Jackson like a stone wall! Rally behind the Virginians."
