Cleopatra became queen after the death of her father King Ptolemy XII, and she ruled for sixteen years.

In order for Cleopatra to regain the throne from her sisters, she needed support from Caesar. The only way for her to get into the palace was to hide in the carpet and surprise him in his chambers.

After her son was born, Queen Cleopatra decides to give her son a name that will show both sides of his heritage. Because the child looked so much like Caesar the people of Alexandria nicknamed him Caesarion:Latin for "little Caesar".
