Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What kind of fox was Mr. Fox?

Answer: red fox

Red foxes are the most common kind of foxes. Mr. Fox had all the markings that red foxes have. He had reddish-brown fur, black paws, and a white belly and white-tipped tail. Like in real life, the fox and the wolves were enemies in the movie. Rupert Everett provided the voice for Mr. Fox.
2. Whose side was Mr. Fox on?

Answer: He was on Aslan's side.

Mr. Fox was one of the few animals that had gotten to speak with Aslan. Mr. Beaver was very suprised when he heard that he had gotten to see Aslan. Mrs. Beaver asked, "What is he like?". Mr. Fox answered, "Like everything we have ever heard. He'll be a good help fighting the White Witch.".
3. What did "Aslan himself" ask Mr. Fox to do?

Answer: He asked him to gather troops.

After Mr. Fox helped the children and beavers, he told them that he did not have time to stay and let his wounds heal. Susan asked, "You're leaving?". He replied, "It has been a pleasure, my Queen. I have been asked by Aslan, himself, to gather more troops.". Later in the movie, after one of the wolves caught Mr. Fox, he told the White Witch that he found the fox gathering troops near Sharwood Forest.
4. When the children and the beavers first met Mr. Fox, why didn't they trust him?

Answer: Because he looked a lot like their enemy.

When Mr. Beaver saw the fox, he said, "Stand still there traitor.". Mr. Fox told them to relax because he was one of the good guys. Mr. Beaver said that he looked a lot like one of the bad guys, which were the wolves. Mr. Fox replied, "An unfortunate family resemblance, but we can discuss family breeding later. Right now we need to move.".
5. What did the wolves say they would do if Mr. Fox told them where the humans were?

Answer: They said that they would spare his life.

As the wolves approached him, Mr. Fox said, "Greetings, gents. Lost something have we?". Maugrim, the leader of the wolves, said, "Don't patronize me! I know where your allegiance lies. We're looking for some humans.". Mr. Fox replied, "Humans? Here in Narnia? That's a valuable bit of information, don't you think?". Maugrim told him, "Your reward is your life.

It's not much, but still...".
6. The wolves demanded that Mr. Fox tell them where the humans were. What direction did he tell them to go?

Answer: He told them to go north to protect the children, who were hiding in a tree near him.

Maugrim demanded that the fox tell him where the humans were, but Mr. Fox would not tell him at first. The wolves then attacked, and injured, Mr. Fox. Mr. Fox looked around, and acted like he had no choice, but to tell them where they were. Mr. Fox said, "They were heading north.".

Then he fell to the ground. Then the children and beavers came down from the tree, and Mrs. Beaver treated his wounds. Mr. Fox told them, "I wish I could say their bark was worse than their bite."
7. Which of the children seemed to want to protect Mr. Fox the most?

Answer: Edmund

The White Witch demanded to know where Aslan was. Mr. Fox did not tell her, and the White Witch started to hit him with her wand. Edmund quickly shouted, "Wait! The beavers said something about the Stone Table and an army." The White Witch replied, "Thank you, Edmund.

It is good for this creature to see some honesty before he dies." "No!", shouted Edmund, as she turned him to stone. Then the White Witch slapped Edmund and told him to think about whose side he was on.
8. What did the White Witch do to Mr. Fox?

Answer: She turned him to stone.

Many other animals were also turned to stone by the White Witch. When Mr. Fox first appeared in the movie, the children and beavers were looking at a lot of the animals that had been turned to stone. Mr. Fox told them, "This is what happens to the enemies of the White Witch." Fortunately for Mr. Fox and the other animals who had been turned to stone, Aslan was able to revive them by breathing warmth into them.
9. Which of these choices best decribes Mr. Fox?

Answer: clever and loyal

The fox was clever because he was able to trick the wolves. He convinced them that the children really had gone north by acting guilty when he told them. He was loyal because he always remained on Aslan's side and did not tell the White Witch Aslan's plans, even though she threatened to turn him to stone if he didn't.
10. Was Mr. Fox present, near the end of the movie, when the children were being given their crowns?

Answer: Yes

Mr. Fox appeared for a few seconds, when everyone was cheering for Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy. Mr. Fox was standing next to a statue of a lion. He seemed to be happy to have the children become kings and queens of Narnia. Mr. Fox was always respectful to the children throughout the movie.

When he first met them, he addressed Peter as "King Peter", Susan as "my Queen", and Edmund as "your majesty". Thank you for playing my quiz.
