Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which song does the line, "While a billion other dealers are slipping past our guards" come from?

Answer: Peaceable Kingdom

'Peaceable Kingdom' is a song about the September 11th, 2001 attacks on the United States of America.
2. Alex Lifeson plays the instrument known as the mandola on 'Vapor Trails'.

Answer: True

This isn't the only Rush album that Lifeson played the mandolin on. He also played it on the 'Test For Echo' album, in the song 'Half the World'.
3. Odd One Out: Which of the following four songs features on 'Vapor Trails'?

Answer: Secret Touch

For those of you who voted for 'Ceiling Limited', you're wrong because the song on the album is called 'Ceiling UNlimited'.
4. What number studio album is this for Rush?

Answer: 17

Rush have followed a pattern with the releases of their albums. They release 4 studio albums, then a live album, then 4 studio, and so on. However, this trend looks to be broken in 2003 with the release of the 'Live in Rio' album.
5. Which is the shortest song on the album?

Answer: Sweet Miracle

At 3:40, 'Sweet Miracle' is the shortest song on the album. Still longer than the majority of music released today, though. :)
6. Which video game racing series featured the song 'One Little Victory' in its most recent incarnation?

Answer: Need For Speed

And it's a first for Rush. They've featured in movies and even wrestling PPV's, but never a video game.
7. The song 'Freeze' is part of a 5-song trilogy known as 'The Fear Trilogy'.

Answer: False

The song 'Freeze' IS part of 'The Fear Trilogy', but it doesn't consist of 5 songs, only 4.
8. How many songs are featured on the album?

Answer: 13

This album actually features the most tracks Rush have ever put onto a studio album.
9. Keyboards are not used on this album.

Answer: True

Rush wanted a more 'raw' sound for 'Vapor Trails', and decided to ditch the use of keyboards for the first time since their early days as a band. The fans were not happy.
10. The song 'Ghost Rider' features which line of lyrics?

Answer: Carry all those phantoms, through bitter wind and stormy skies

The song 'Ghost Rider' is about Neil Peart's journey of self-discovery after he lost his wife to cancer and his daughter in a car crash.
11. Rush followed the release of the album with a huge tour. Which continent did they regret not taking the tour to?

Answer: Europe

Even if they wanted to, they wouldn't have been able to tour Europe. The reason was that all the major arenas in Europe wouldn't take a chance on Rush, believing that the European fans hadn't taken much notice of 'Vapor Trails', the album. The sales of the album and the consequent backlash from the fans on the internet proved them wrong.
12. 'Freeze' is which part of 'The Fear Trilogy'?

Answer: IV

'The Fear Trilogy' is a confusing one. It's not even strictly a true trilogy with its 4 songs, and the trilogy also plays out in the following chronological order: III, II, I, VI. Confusing?
13. Which of the following from 'Vapor Trails' has never been performed live by Rush?

Answer: How It Is

It's been well documented that there's around 40 Rush songs that have never been performed live.
14. There was a gap of how many years since the release of 'Test For Echo' and 'Vapor Trails'?

Answer: 6

This was the longest gap between any two Rush studio albums released.
15. Neil Peart wrote the lyrics for every song on the album.

Answer: True

Neil Peart has been the sole lyricist for Rush on more than 95 percent of their songs to date.
16. Which song features the line "I wasn't walking with angels, I was talking to myself"?

Answer: Sweet Miracle

The full verse reads as:
I wasn't walking with angels,
I was talking to myself,
Rising up to the surface,
Raging against the night,
Starless night.
17. In which month of 2002 was 'Vapor Trails' released?

Answer: May

The exact date was 14th of May, 2002.
18. The song 'One Little Victory' was featured in one of the WWE's PPV events in 2002.

Answer: False

But way back in 1993, the song 'Where's My Thing?' from the Rush album 'Roll the Bones' WAS featured in that year's Royal Rumble event.
19. Which of the following 4 words fit into the blank space for this line from the song 'Freeze': 'The menace threatens, closing, And I'm .... in the shadows.'

Answer: Frozen

Maybe a bit of an obvious answer this one, but there needed to be an easy question in this quiz! :)
20. For the first time in a Rush studio album, Alex Lifeson sings lead vocals on one of the songs.

Answer: False

Alex Lifeson has NEVER sang lead vocals for any Rush song. Why would you want him to anyway with Geddy Lee available? :)
21. What did the cover of the album depict?

Answer: A painting of a fireball

It's also one of their least popular album covers amongst the internet crowd. Very picky, that lot.
22. The tracklist order changes between the US and UK versions of the album.

Answer: True

Strangely enough, it does. 'Peaceable Kingdom' and 'Ceiling Unlimited' swapped places when the album was released in the UK.
23. The following line features in which 'Vapor Trails' song: 'Silence all the songbirds, stilled by the killing frost'

Answer: Vapor Trail

I originally believed that this was another case of a Rush album which shares its title with one of its songs, but somebody right here on funtrivia proved me wrong! It's corrected now! :P
24. Which of the following tracks lasts more than ten minutes?

Answer: None of them

Rush hasn't done a song which lasts more than 10 minutes since the album 'Moving Pictures' in 1981.
25. Finally... This is the 4th album in a row on which Rush has featured an instrumental song with no lyrics.

Answer: False

There's actually NO instrumental track on the album.
