1. I was a tax collector who lived in Jericho the first time I saw Jesus. Who am I?

Answer: Zacchaeus

Zacchaeus was a tax collector who lived in Jericho. He was in the crowd on a particular day when Jesus was coming through town. With his small stature, Zacchaeus couldn't see Jesus so he climbed into a sycamore tree where he could look down into the crowd and see Jesus.

While in the tree, Zacchaeus was noticed by Jesus and both men went to Zacchaeus' house to eat and talk. The story of Zacchaeus' tree climbing can be found in Luke 19.
2. I was my father's third son. When my half-brother hurt my sister, I killed him and then ran away. I hanged myself, accidentally, of course. Who am I?

Answer: Absalom

Absalom was born to David and Maacha. Two years after his brother Amnon assaulted their sister, Absalom had him killed during a sheep shearing festivity. He fled the country and started his own army. When he went up against his father, Absalom's men were either killed or ran out of the country.

While trying to run away, Absalom got his hair wrapped around a tree limb and was hung. While hanging in the tree one of David's men killed Absalom with a spear. Absalom's story begins in II Samuel 14-18.

Answer: Mephibosheth

Answer: Eglon

Eglon was the sixth king of Moab. One day, Judge Ehud came to visit Eglon. Using the knife under his robes, Ehud stabbed Eglon after the king sent all his men away. The knife punctured Eglon's intestines and he died slowly. Eglon's men found the door to his chamber locked and thought he was using the chamberpot.

When the king didn't unlock the door after some time, Eglon's men entered the chamber and found their king dead. The story of Eglon can be found in Judges 3.

Answer: Goliath

Goliath was born in the city of Gath. He was ten and a half feet tall. Goliath was killed by a young shepherd boy named David, who killed him with a simple stone in a slingshot. Samson was a Nazarite who was taught not to drink, cut his hair, or touch a dead body. When he shared with a Philistine woman that he could lose his strength if his hair was cut, the devious woman had his hair cut while he slept. Samson lost his strength. Samson sought revenge and killed all the Philistine rulers, three thousand Philistine people, and himself. Samson's story can be found in Judges 13 through 15.
8. I was one of Isaac's children. My brother betrayed me and I tried to kill him. After reuniting, we buried our father together. Who am I?

Answer: Esau

Esau was the firstborn of Isaac and Rebekah's twin boys. Because Esau was the firstborn, he was supposed to get Isaac's birthright. However, he sold the birthright to Jacob in order to get some of the food Jacob was cooking. Esau knew that Jacob would never get the birthright because Isaac had to bless it.

When Esau found out that Jacob had tricked his father into blessing Jacob with the birthright, he tried to kill him. Years later, Esau forgave Jacob when the brothers were reunited and they buried their father, Isaac.

The story of Esau can be found in Genesis 25.
