Answer: New York Yankees

Although going to five World Series in the 1990s, the Braves' best season record was 106-56 in 1998. The Yankees owned the 1998 season by going 114-48 which earned them a trip to the World Series. They won it all four games to none against the Padres. The Cardinals and Blue Jays didn't reach the century mark in wins in the 1990s.

Answer: Philadelphia Phillies

The first team ever to hit the century mark in season home runs were the American League Yankees. With the help of Babe Ruth's 54 dingers in 1920, the team hit 115. The Phillies were the first top the mark in the National League by hitting 116 in 1922.

The team had spread the home runs around, but it was Cy Williams who led the team with 29. The Cardinals also hit 107 in the 1922 season.

After that pitch, Mitch was done as a Phillie and traded to the Houston Astros. He retired in 1997 and became a sports analyst.

In 1981 they started with Gene Michael and then went with Bob Lemon. The 1982 season started with Lemon, but then changed back to Gene Michael after 14 games. Clyde King came in the season later to finish it out. Billy Martin helmed the 1983 season and Yogi Berra had the 1984 team.

After 16 games in 1985 the Yankees went back to Billy Martin to finish the season.

The 1986 and 1987 season saw the great Lou Piniella at the helm, then in 1988 they brought Billy Martin back in. Martin fired again in midseason, the Yankees re-hired Piniella to finish out the 1988 season. After firing Piniella after the season, they hired Dallas Green for the 1989 season but it didn't last and the team hired Bucky Dent to finish out the season.

The Yankees went to only one World Series in the decade and lost to the Dodgers in 1981.
9. When this franchise moved in the 1950s to a new city, they hired Jimmy Dykes as their manager. Which team was this with a new name?

Answer: Baltimore Orioles

The franchise was the St. Louis Browns from 1902-1953. Finding only one World Series in that span, the franchise moved to Baltimore to become the Orioles in 1954. The Browns closed out their era with manager Marty Marion with a 54-100 record in 1953. Dykes was hired for the refurbished team and finished with the identical record of 54-100 in 1954.

The franchise would see its first World Series crown in Baltimore in 1966, rolling over the Dodgers in four games.

President Benjamin Harrison was the first-ever documented president to attend a professional baseball game on June 6, 1892. Taft was the first president to throw out the first ceremonial pitch on this historical date on April 14, 1910 in Washington D.C. Playing catcher was Hall of Fame pitching great Walter Johnson of the Senators. Taft was also the first president to watch two games in St. Louis on May 4, 1910. Future President William McKinley threw out a first pitch in 1892, but did it as Governor of Ohio at the time.
