1. A code of practice for which sport was published in 1867 as the "Queensberry Rules"?

Answer: Boxing

The code was actually drawn up by John Graham Chambers, a Welsh-born sportsman who played a major role in the development of a number of sports, including athletics (track & field), wrestling, and cycling. The Ninth Marquess of Queensberry was well known as a patron of boxing, and his endorsement of the new code helped it to gain acceptance.

Answer: Tracy Austin

Tracy Austin retired due to injury with two US Open Championships to her name at the age of 20. Austin tried to come back a number of times, but never reached the heights of her early career again. Interestingly, it was against Tracy Austin that Steffi Graf made her professional debut in 1982.

Answer: Dennis Rodman

Dennis Rodman is known not only as a basketball great (having played for the Detroit Pistons, the San Antonio Spurs, and the Chicago Bulls), but also as a flamboyant personality (his interesting fashion statements have included hair colors never found in nature and even, on one occasion, a wedding dress). He had a much-publicized, albeit extremely brief, marriage to model-actress Carmen Electra. During the late 1990s, Rodman took up professional wrestling. Never one to shy from controversy, he traveled to North Korea in 2013 and met its leader, Kim Jong-un.

8. Which famous boxer, who held the world heavyweight title from 1919 to 1926, has a fish named after him?

Answer: Jack Dempsey

The Jack Dempsey is a rather beautiful fish that is coloured blue with darker spots when in peak condition. You could even say it's black and blue all over? It's an aggressive fish, does not socialise well, and will kill or eat fish smaller than itself. As far as fish goes, however, the Jack Dempsey actually has a personality and can learn to recognise its caretaker, often jumping up out of the water to gain attention or to receive special treats. Does well in an aquarium, but not in a boxing ring.

Answer: The Cougars were not an NHL team

The National Hockey League (NHL) was formed in 1917 as a successor to the National Hockey Association. The Stanley Cup was first awarded in 1893. In its early days, the NHL was a small organization with only three or four teams, until 1924. During the 1910s and 1920s, the Pacific Coast Hockey Association, Western Canada Hockey League (WCHL), and Western Hockey League also competed for the Stanley Cup in various years. The Cougars of Victoria, British Columbia, won the Stanley Cup finals 3-1 over the Montreal Canadiens, outscoring them 16-8 in the four games.
