1. Three of these NFL star receivers led the league in most receptions three times in their careers. Who is the odd man out by leading the league eight times in receptions?

Answer: Don Hutson

Hutson was a Green Bay Packer from 1935-1945. In eight of those 11 seasons, Don led the league in receptions, topping out at 74 in 1942. Hutson caught 488 career passes, with 99 of those going for a touchdown.
2. O.J. Simpson became the first running back in history to reach the 2000-yard rushing mark in a season in 1973 with the Buffalo Bills. Who surpassed that in 1984 to become the first to rush for 2100 season yards?

Answer: Eric Dickerson

Eric was in his second season with the Los Angeles Rams in 1984 when he rushed for 2105 yards. He rushed for 1808 as a rookie. Mid-season 1987 would see a multi-player trade that took Eric to the Indianapolis Colts. Dickerson retired with the Falcons in 1993, averaging 1205 rushing yards per season in his career.
3. Which kicker had sights on his leg and was the first to kick 40 field goals in a season?

Answer: Neil Rackers

Only a handful had kicked more than 35, but just couldn't get to the 40-mark. Rackers of the Arizona Cardinals did in 2005, making 40 of 42 field goals with six being 50+ yards out. Neil also played with the Bengals, and was a Houston Texan in 2010.
4. Which bruised quarterback was the first in NFL history to be sacked 75 times in one season?

Answer: David Carr

Carr was a member of the Houston Texans in 2002 when he was sacked a record 76 times in the season. The Texans went 4-12, the worst record in the AFC South. David was a rookie in 2002, and spent five seasons with a Texan helmet on. During those five seasons, he averaged 50 times being sacked per season.
5. Who was the first NFL player in history to have 2500 all-purpose yards in a season, by any means that they could get them?

Answer: Lionel James

James played in only five seasons from 1984-1988. His entire career was with the San Diego Chargers. In 1985, James had 2535 total yards, sharing the yardage as a kick/punt returner, running back, and wide receiver. Lionel had the help of quarterback Dan Fouts.
6. You can't throw longer than a 99-yard touchdown pass. Who was the first player in NFL history to throw one?

Answer: Frank Filchock

Filchock was a Washington Redskin in 1939. Primarily playing tailback in the season, Frank connected with fullback Andy Farkas for the 99-yard play. The play came against the Chicago Cardinals in a 28-7 Redskins win.

Answer: James Wilder

James played nine of his 10 seasons with the Bucs. The 1984 season saw him carry the ball an amazing 407 times. He rushed for 1544 yards and 13 touchdowns. Wilder shared his final season in 1990 between the Redskins and Lions.

Answer: Mark Gastineau

It was common to see the number 99 of the New York Jets jumping and dancing around after a quarterback sack. After falling one short of the 20-mark in 1983, Gastineau recorded 22 in 1984. Mark played in 10 seasons for the Jets and retired in 1988 with 74 career sacks.

10. Who was the first quarterback to complete 400 passes in one season?

Answer: Warren Moon

With the number one on his back, Moon completed 404 passes to his teammates of the Houston Oilers in 1991. Haywood Jeffires pulled in 100 of those, Drew Hill 89, and Ernest Givins caught 69 from the arm of Moon. He retired with 3988 pass completions in his career after the 2000 season.
