Mayberry's Favorite Aunt, Bee Taylor Quiz

The episode starts with Andy, Barney and Opie in the courthouse while Andy is performing a marriage ceremony for his former housekeeper, Rose, and the man she is marrying. Opie is displeased with her leaving and doesn't quite warm up to Aunt Bee until episode's end.

Henry Wheeler shows up one day at the Taylor home and makes Aunt Bee think that he needs to treat her roses. Before leaving for the day, he asks her for an onion so that he can make some stew to eat for dinner. However, what he really wants is to be invited to dinner which he eventually is. He continues to con the Taylor home for a few days until Andy becomes wise to his ploy.

While at the end of the episode, Aunt Bee ends up making a sixteen quart batch for the boys to enjoy, she orignally makes only eight quarts. They are so horrible that Andy and Barney make a plan to switch her horrid home pickles for store bought pickles. Once they find out that Aunt Bee would use them, unknown to her that they were store bought, to enter the pickle contest and how much it meant to Clara Johnson to win each year, they decide to try and consume all eight quarts so there would be none for her to enter without making her own batch again.

At the episode's beginning, Bert shows up while Andy and Barney are sitting on a bench next to the market. Andy requests some razor blades from his case, Barney wants a pair of socks size ten and a half, and Aunt Bee, after coming out of the market, requests a new apron.

When a gang of moonshiners fill up the Mayberry jailhouse, Andy doesn't have much choice but to take Otis to his house to serve his twenty-four hours. Aunt Bee isn't pleased with this and once Otis makes a remark about being treated like a prisoner, she proceeds to make him perform all sorts of chores for the remainder of his time.

While there are plenty of chores we see him do, dusting shelves is not one of them.

When the egg man, Mr. Frisby who has delivered to the Taylor home for years, tells them that the county is throwing him off his property to build a highway, Aunt Bee makes it her personal crusade to ensure that he gets to stay. In an attempt to play on her sympathy, he gives to her a mustache cup and also promises to give Opie a rooster if he builds a chicken coop.

Aunt Bee, who can't help but try to make a dollar stretch as far as she can make it, learns from her friend, Clara, about a new butcher in town that is offering an amazing deal. The deal being she would recieve an introductory discount from them as long as she would buy a whole side of beef.

She buys 150lbs of beef that, for one isn't the highest quality, and two she isn't able to store properly due to an old freezer that is on its last leg.

At the episode's beginning, Andy, Aunt Bee, and Opie are sitting on their front porch after church. Aunt Bee, after seeing a loving family pass by, yearns to see some of her kin. She brings up her sister, Nora, along with her husband and two children, Ollie, Roger, and Bruce. Andy makes the remark about going to visit them one day in Lake Charles. That's when she asks him about inviting them over for the weekend.

Though not really a biological family member, a woman, Gloria, comes to stay at the Taylor home after a broken engagement. The Taylor family does their best to make her at home. Andy seems to go above and beyond to make her feel comfortable which gets Helen rather jealous and hot under the collar.
