Red Herring was voiced by Scott Menville, he appeared in nearly every episode of "A Pup Named Scooby-Doo" and he was sometimes accused by Freddy even when he wasn't in the episode (when this happened, Red would then appear and clear his name). Red was only the villain once, and ironically, Freddy did not blame him that time.

During the film, we see several tales that live up to the latter part of the title, "Arabian Nights". Also, this movie was not always called "Scooby-Doo in Arabian Nights", but just "Arabian Nights".
