Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Movie about brothers looking for brides.

Answer: Seven

Released in 1954, "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" told the story of a woodsman coming home with a wife. His six brothers decided they wanted to follow suite.
Starring Howard Keel, who went on to star in the U.S. drama "Dallas".
2. Spooky T.V. show starring two agents, one who believed "the truth is out there".

Answer: X

"The X-Files", starring David Duchovny as "Fox Mulder" and the beautiful Gillian Anderson as "Dana Scully" was shown from 1993 - 2002 in the U.S.
Aliens, the paranormal and government conspiracies all played their part in this classic U.S. sc/fi show.
3. Spin off from 'Star Trek.'

Answer: Nine

"Deep Space Nine" actually inspired this quiz as I was at a friend's house the other day and they were watching it. It is also known as "DS9" and set in the same universe as "Star Trek", originally written by Gene Roddenberry
I didn't have any idea what was going on but enjoyed it.
4. U.S. medical drama.

Answer: ER

"ER", in my humble option, is the best medical drama I've ever seen on T.V. The often spontaneous (sometimes shocking) events left ones head spinning. Many of the characters changed throughout its fifteen years run but within a couple of episodes you felt that they had been there forever!
5. They live by the motto "One for all, all for one".

Answer: Three

"The Three Musketeers", originally a novel by Alexandre Dumas, has been made into several movies, T.V. series, and even into a video game!
My favourite version of the movie was released in 1973 and starred Michael York as D'Artagnan, Oliver Reed as Athos, Richard Chamberlain as Aramis, and Frank Finlay as Porthos.
Hard to go wrong with a cast like that.
6. Translate "Friends" into Mexican to find out how many in this wacky movie.

Answer: Three

The "Three Amigos!" has to be one of the funniest films I've seen. Starring Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, Martin Short, and directed by John Landis, it tells the tale of three actors fired for asking for more money for their silent movies, "Three Amigos".
Without work, when invited to a small Mexican village to help fight bandits, they go without realising the bandits are real!
7. Perhaps the top/best U.S "Team" on T.V. but were they framed for a crime they did not commit?

Answer: A

"The A Team" ran for 98 episodes from 1983 to 1986 and was basically about group of 'soldiers of fortune' or mercenaries, on the run from the military after being framed.
Starring George Peppard as Col.John Smith, Dwight Schultz as Capt.Murdock, Mr.T as Sgt.Bosco Baracus, and Dirk Benedict as Lt.Templeton Peck.
8. A plan from outer space briefly starring Bela Lugosi.

Answer: Nine

I believe "Plan 9 From Outer Space" was voted one of the worst 'B' movies ever released, but it's great fun. The plot is about aliens and zombies. Unfortunately, Bela Lugosi died shortly after the filming started and the film maker, Edward D Wood, used his wife's chiropractor (Tom Mason) as a stand in.
If you enjoy films with goofs, this is the one to watch.
9. Old British T.V drama that sounds like you could be a snoring policeman.

Answer: Z

Until "Z Cars", first aired in in 1964 and running for sixteen years, British police dramas had only showed the happy side of a policeman's life. A good example being "Dixon of Dock Green". I'm now showing my age!
The cast of "Z Cars" included Brian Blessed, Stratford Johns, and Frank Windsor.

All went on to have successful careers in T.V.
Guest stars included a very young Judi Dench (now a Dame) and Patrick Troughton who played the second "Doctor Who".
10. The number of the Mobile Army Surgical Hospital in Korea (M*A*S*H).

Answer: 4077

I'm a big fan of "M*A*S*H" but asked to remember the unit number, I wouldn't have had a clue without seeing it.
"M*A*S*H" was set during the Korean war but was first aired in 1972 when the Vietnam war was still in progress. Many see it as trying to communicate the message that some wars (not all) are pointless or futile.

The original cast included Alan Alda, playing Benjamin Franklin "Hawkeye" Pierce, Loretta Swit, playing Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan, Wayne Rogers, playing John "Trapper" McIntyre, and McLean Stevenson, playing Henry Blake (the commanding officer for the first 3 seasons).

Hope you've had fun playing my quiz.
